The Capp III Family: Week 5

Weeks 3 and 4 at this household can be read here.

The third Capp family lives in this house, and consists of only two Sims:
Bianca (née Monty) and Kent. They are both on Permanent Platinum. Kent reached his lifetime want of becoming Mad Scientist 11 days before he turned into an Elder, and Bianca made sure to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary as soon after her own birthday as possible. They are now 59 (Bianca) and 61 (Kent), and firm 3-bolters.

After two very busy Sim-weeks at large households, this one is going to be played mainly without me intervening. Let's see how the two of them are going to fare.

On Monday morning, Kent grabs a sponge and gives the kitchen counter a good scrub.
He then spends hours relaxing on the bed, although there would be more than enough for him to do, such as unclogging the toilet or taking care of the weeds in the garden.
Bianca does not unclog the toilet, either, but at least she cleans the bathroom floor.

This is the only time during the whole week that she prepares a meal! Probably the experience of having burnt the salmon makes her wary of all cooking, and so she gives up on it entirely.

She does get herself a mug of coffee every now and then.

Just after dark, Isaiah Capp (former Gavigan), Bianca and Kent's newest relative (acquired by marriage), comes visiting.

Bianca has another mug of coffee, while Kent nearly falls over with tiredness.

Poor Isaiah is left to eat a plate of burnt salmon all on his own! No wonder the family he just married into did not invite Bianca and Kent for the wedding, he thinks, with such strange behaviour.

Kent snores away on the settee. That really is not the way a good host should behave.

Early on Tuesday morning, Bianca plays with the RC car that Santa left at Christmas.

I've had enough of the clogged toilet and have Bianca call the repair service.

Today, Shaun Singles walks past the house and is greeted by Bianca.

At night, Kent is picked up for work by the impressive limousine.

Bianca does not like being on her own at night, while Kent is working at the lab. She has just woken up after a nap on the settee and is now waiting for her husband to come home. It is nearly 2.00 in the morning on Wednesday.

Later that day, Gary Greenman is the Capps' guest for the day.

Bianca is - as usual - nearly starving, but instead of making a meal for their guest and themselves, she rather has a snowball fight with him.

Kent clears Bianca's empty coffee mugs. Must be love!

Just before he leaves for work that night, his wife gives him a backrub. Sweetly enough, she does that on each of his working nights.

Thursday morning, Bianca is once more downstairs on the settee, waiting for her husband to return from work. She really does not like being on her own.

After the two of them get up that day, Kent more than makes up for his nightly absence by serenading a blushing Bianca.

For the first time ever since playing this game, I see a message popping up, informing me that the green energy resource at this household has generated more energy than what has been consumed, and the household gets a refund of 6 (six!) Simoleons. Well... There is no green energy source on this lot, so I have no idea how the Capps have managed to get this "impressive" refund :-)
Bianca celebrates the news with a bag of crisps.

Friday morning, Bianca decides to take the trash out, only to find their bin has been knocked over. (I saw it happening, it was a townie who, to my knowledge, has no reason to hold a grudge against Kent or Bianca.)

Bianca puts the bin upright again, but does not get rid of the mess on the ground. Instead, just when Kent's limousine drops him off after work, she finally makes a start on the overgrown shrubs in the yeard.

She stops after the one shrub, however, and Kent takes over. Almost as if she simply wanted to show him what needs doing!

And indeed, Kent keeps on clipping away with the pruning shears, while Bianca stomps on the bugs that have crawled out from underneath the pile of trash.

Unbelievably, Kent really got ALL the gardening done in one go! His wife rewards him with a well-deserved backrub. The pile of trash is still there, by the way.

It is Saturday, and once again we find Bianca nearly starving to death.

A bag of crisps comes to the rescue, as before.

Kent does not clear up the mess, but at least he is clever enough to spray the bugs instead of just stomping on them.

In the end, it is Bianca to pick up the rubbish from several days ago. I was beginning to believe it would never get done!

For a while, both Bianca and Kent play with Tramp, the beautiful white wolf that keeps visiting. No Charlie this round (the large brown wolf with the gleaming eyes who befriended Kent during the last round).

When Tramp finds a stray cat to play with him, Kent gets out the anti-bug spray again.

Bianca does her part by sweeping up the dead bugs.

n Sunday, Isabella Indie jogs by the house. Kent stops her and makes her their guest for the day. But as usual with their guests, neither he nor his wife look after her very well.

Instead, the couple have once more taken up the fight against the bugs.

In the afternoon, Cedric Cooke is greeted, and on his own accord joins in the bug-fighting campaign.

Since neither of his hosts show any sign of serving dinner, he resorts to the contents of the trash can for something to eat.

This was a relatively boring round, especially in contrast with the previous two households. A few times, I expected Bianca to die of starvation, but in the end she grabbed those bags of crisps just in time. Kent was mainly saved by going to work. He is now 68, Bianca is 66.

There are three more Capp family members, living in different households, to be played; Hal Capp is next.

    1. Thank you, peachy!
It is always interesting to see how well - or not - different Sims care for their own needs. I guess it has to do with their personality, and also with how many other things (or other Sims) are there to distract them.

  2. I agree with peachy, it's fun to watch your sims uncontrolled. I must strive to do that myself.
They did well not to die of starvation or get the 'flu what with the lack of cooking and bugs.
Funny about the pop up and you not having a green energy source!

    1. Yes, that message about the green energy source was funny!
I do hate it when my Sims have the flu or a cold. It takes up so much of their time just to finish coughing :-D

    1. It's funny, isn't it, how sometimes that works so well and sometimes it does not seem to affect them at all.

    1. For me, the Sims2 launcher only works if I click on "Start Game" (or is it "play game" - whatever, you know which one I mean) instantly, because the Launcher is still trying to retrieve info from the old Sims2 website which has long since closed down.

    1. I won't get a facebook account; I work in Privacy Protection (Personal Data Protection) and IT Security and am absolutely not happy about the way Facebook are handling their users' personal data.

Where were you trying to download the games from? You do have an Origin account with EA, right? The EA support team should be able to help you.

  14. It's ok although I think you can still chat with me on facebook without an account and I do have an origin account
