Gallagher and Jacqueline Newson: Week 3

This modest house in Downtown New Max is the home of another Newson family:

Gallagher Newson and his wife Jacqueline, nee Jacquet. Her human father was the late Gilbert Jacquet, son of Denise Jacquet. Her other father was - obviously - an Alien.

Gallagher and Jacqueline are firm 3-bolters. For Jacqueline, this means that her lifetime want is time-consuming, but not difficult: She wants 50 dream dates, and EVERY date with her 3-bolt-husband ends as a dream date. She ended last round (which you can read here) with 40 dream dates under her belt.
For Gallagher, his lifetime want will come true once he'll have made it to Game Designer. He is currently working as Guild Leader.

On this Monday, Gallagher has the day off and uses it wisely to acquire the skills needed for his next promotion. As usual, his wife - who does not have a job outside the house - does the cleaning and cooking. She may have been a little distracted from her 41st dream date when she set the kitchen stove on fire. Thankfully, a fire alarm is part of the kitchen equipment, and the fire is put out quickly by the fireman.

Burnt chili con carne is not exactly a culinary delight, but who cares when it is served by your three-bolt love!
Jacqueline expresses her hope that her husband gets his next promotion soon.

The main event of Tuesday is Gallagher's trip to the stars - aboard an Alien space ship! He meets his father-in-law (remember, his wife is half-Alien) and returns with a souvenir.

Spring has begun, and Jaqueline puts the woolly jumper and long trousers aside. Red is her colour, and she likes to be always ready for yet another dream date with her hubby. Today, however, he is out for work almost all day, and the omelettes she prepares here are just for herself.

Gallagher's pregnancy is confirmed on Wednesday morning.

He stays home from work, which gives the couple the opportunity to have Jacqueline's dream date # 42.

They still talk about it over dinner - it's Chef Salad for her and Mac & Cheese for him.

A growing belly apparently can also mean growing hair, as Gallagher finds out on Thursday morning.

He and his wife know their time for dates will be limited once the baby is here, and so on this day they have Jacqueline's dream dates # 43 and 44 together.

Later, Gallagher researches his unborn baby's (and his father-in-law's) home planet.

That night, the couple meet at the telescope, where Jacqueline hopes to catch a glimpse of the home planet's star and Gallagher has some useful tips on the use of the complicated technical device ;-)

Friday morning over breakfast, Gallagher muses that there won't be just the two of them much longer.

And how very right he is! He has just about enough time to eat his omelette when, at 9:00 sharply, he goes into labour.

Nero Newson is born shortly afterwards, right there in the kitchen.

The house is too small for a nursery, but the couple have rarely been using their living room corner anyway...

...and so it is quickly transformed into Nero's part of the house. They will probably relocate or have an extension built eventually, but just not yet.

Of course, all the other Newsons want to meet their latest family member, and so they are invited over - except for next door neighbours Garrett and Paola, who are working (they will be the next household I play).

Auntie Gabriella is as happy as the rest of them! The Newson siblings take turns in feeding and holding little Nero; in between, Jacqueline orders pizza for everyone.
All this enables husband and wife to have their dream date # 45 - that's only five left until Jacqueline will have reached her lifetime want.

Saturday begins with a change of diapers for little Nero.

Garrett and Paola weren't able to make it yesterday, and so they come over today.

Uncle Garrett is instantly in love with his little nephew...

...and Auntie Paola is the same.
Don't you love it when Sims interact with babies and children on their own accord?

It was Gallagher's first day back at work - and his last promotion: He is now Game Designer, having reached his lifetime want 9 days from Elderhood. Well done, Gallagher!

The celebratory dinner consists of spaghetti with meatballs.

On Sunday, the couple get up while it is still dark. They want to accomplish a few dream dates for Jacqueline, and of course take care of their baby boy.
Before the day is over, Jacqueline can chalk off dream dates # 46 and 47.

In between, Gallagher even finds the time to harvest the (not very tasty) oranges.

In the evening, Nero grows up from a content baby to a cheerful toddler. Although Jacqueline is really his half-sister (their Alien father is the same), she acts and feels like a mother to the little guy who looks so much like herself.

The day - and the week - end with Gallagher starting to teach Nero how to walk.

Both the adults have made good progress; Gallagher has reached his lifetime want (but as long as his son is still so young, I will keep controlling him) and Jaqueline is not far off.
Nero was a surprise - I entered the game one evening after work, with Gallagher at the telescope from my playing the previous day, and off he went aboard the UFO.

Next will be next door - Garrett Newson and Paola Picaso, and the last of my Newson housholds.
As I have 1 1/2 weeks off work from Wednesday onwards and will spend it at my partner's place, it will take a while before I can play that.
Stay well in the meantime!

The Newson Sisters: Week 3

Click here for Week 2 with this household.

One of the few houses left in Old Town Maximiliania is this pretty yellow one with the small blue extension (a sauna). Who lives here?

Sisters Gabriella...

...and Georgia Newson.
Pretty Georgia is the youngest of the original Newson siblings. Her goal in life is to become Hand of Poseidon, something she is not far off reaching. On this Monday morning, she has a bad cough but still decides to go to work.

Before that, she and Gabriella have breakfast together. Once again (see their previous week), she tries to reason with her sister that her aim of having 20 loves is most likely going to cause trouble in several marriages.
But Georgia's lifetime want has not changed, and it is only fair to let her try and reach it like everyone else here in New Max.
Last time I played here, she ended the week with six loves.

And here she is, making townie Peter Spitzig her #7 - definitely NOT troubling anyone's marriage this time!

Georgia returns from work with a smile - and a promotion: She is now Hand of Poseidon, having reached her lifetime want 15 days from Elderhood. Congratulations!
From now on, I will direct her only occasionally.

The only NPC/townie with a New Max surname the girls know is Caryl Lee. Do you remember her/him? He/she is the one who seems to be male by voice but female by looks, and who can be invited over, but not asked to leave.
After Gabriella has talked to Caryl on the phone earlier in the day, she spun the wish to flirt with her/him, and so Caryl is invited over. You can tell that it takes these two a while to get a conversation going.

On Tuesday morning, instead of boarding the car that was sent to pick her up for work, Georgia boards a taxi. One of her big wishes was to travel to Takemizu Village, and I grant her wish for several reasons: First, she has worked hard to reach her lifetime want, and this is her reward. Second, I want to check if there are any new tourists or native Sims in the vacation neighbourhoods. Third, travelling will give Gabriella a chance to meet single men. Fourth... you'll see in a minute.

The sisters arrive at their destination.

But they are not alone: Their relative Nellie Newson has been invited along!
Actually, Nellie is their niece, the daughter of their big sister Ginger. But she is so close in age that the three women are more like sisters.
Nellie is my fourth reason for this trip: I hope she meets a three-bolt man here.

On their first day in Takemizu, our three tourists sample the culinary delights.

Nellie retreats to her room without having met anyone special, I think. I can not control her, which makes things a bit difficult.

But I am pleased to find her wandering the resort when Georgia and Gabriella have gone to bed. In this community room, she meets a whole bunch of other tourists, male and female.

On Wednesday morning, Gabriella and Nellie have omelettes and champagne for breakfast. Nice!

The ladies then visit the Pagoda market and buy some souvenirs.

The rest of their time in Takemizu is spent at the resort; having meals, talking to the other resort guests and visiting natives, or just watching TV together on a rainy night, as Nellie and Gabriella are doing here.

Soon, it is time to check out. Nellie travels back to the Newson family home in Down Town New Max, and the sisters to their house.

It is Wednesday again when they return, but I am still going to play this household for seven days, so this counts as their fifth day.
While Georgia is at work, Gabriella makes Lance Landgraab - another married man! - her love # 8.

Then she decides to enlist the Matchmaker's help to find some unattached men she can date. And just as the first of her blind dates arrives, who should walk by but Callum Capp! Now, Callum is anything but amused by Gabriella dating another man, and he clearly shows his feelings, no matter how much Gabriella apologises and reasons with him.

It can't be helped, and Gabriella focuses on Rodney Scott, her blind date, who happens to be another 3-bolt-man for her.

After the date, Rodney returns with a rose for Gabriella just as Callum has been kicking over the dustbin. Gabriella needs to time her affairs a little better, I think!

But then I realise that she is not the only Newson lady with a special place in Callum's heart! Here he is, hugging Georgia on the back porch, with his younger brother? cousin? Carmelo Capp watching. Gabriella is completely unaware of these goings-on, it seems.

Thursday starts for Georgia with a can of juice. Not that she is a bad cook, quite the contrary; earlier this week, she made stuffed turkey on her own accord. She just can't be bothered today.

The girls' older sister Ginger Newson comes visiting. The Newsons have always been a close-knit family, and are happy to see each other for any - or no - occasion.

Georgia's second meal of the day is no more elaborate than her first.

Later, Stacy Stacks walks by and is asked in. Gabriella has been working on her friendships most of the day; after all, no man will make it onto her list of loves if they are not best friends first.

Because of their holiday earlier in the week, Friday is their seventh and last day of this round. For the sisters, it starts with a chat on the settee, still in their pajamas. Summer has begun, and Georgia dreams of having ice cream.

Gabriella's dreams involve less ice cream and more men. She tries her best to make former blind date Rodney Scott her next love.

And indeed, before the day is over, Rodney becomes her # 9!
With what happened with Callum Capp, I believe he is also on Gabriella's list of loves, even though I did not write his name down in my notes. I could of course go and check Callum's last post, but it is not necessary - I count him as # 10 now and am satisfied with Gabriella having reached half her lifetime want.

There are two more Newson households to be played!
