Ryker Love - Week 1

We have just spent a week with Demi Love, now it is Ryker Love's turn. He used to be an NPC student before I found him; you can read here about where and when he became a permanent New Maximilianian.
Ryker has the Romance Aspiration and wants to become Prestidigitator.

This house looks a bit out of place in the downtown environment where I have placed it; the concrete does not match the rustic feel, does it. But it was cheap and small, just right for a single Sim like Ryker.

Mr. Humble delivers his computer, Ryker quickly buys a desk and chair, and starts looking for a job in the Entertainment career. No luck today.

Then the welcome wagon arrives. Hailey Hart, Jill Smith and Isaiah Gavigan-Capp are here to say hello. And look - Jill seems to be smitten by the new neighbour!

Hailey and Isaiah, not controlled by me, engage in some... erm... neighbourly friendliness. Isaiah, remember you are a married man!!

In the house, Jill and Ryker discover they have three bolts for each other.

After Ryker has served Grilled Cheese, the phone rings - his "cousin" Demi Love invites him to join her group of friends for an outing. The taxi drops the group off in the centre of town.

Demi helps Ryker in finding some new outfits; it is summer, and he can not always walk around in the outfit he age-transitioned into when he turned from young adult (student) to adult.

On Tuesday morning, Ryker is up before sunrise and takes advantage of the early hours before it gets too hot by first looking after the apple tree next to his house and then refilling the hole a stray wolf has been digging.

He has kept yesterday's wish to have a date with his 3-bolt-lady Jill Smith and invites her over. Needless to say, the two have a dream date without ever leaving the house.
Ryker then goes to work in a very good mood.

Hardly surprising, his great mood results in a promotion on his very first day! He is now a Lounge Singer (still in his Mime outfit here).

Wednesday is a day off for Ryker, giving him the chance to brush up on his charisma skill for his next promotion. Unfortunately, he comes down with a cold and coughs his way through lone meals, a bit of gardening and some phone calls with friends. Oh, and he does indeed acquire another charisma point before he has a comforting hot bath and goes to bed.

Thursday is Bills Day, as every Sim (and every Simmer) knows.

Today, work for Ryker only starts at 2:00 pm. He has plenty of time to invite Jill over for a date. By the end of it, the two of them are in love - proper. red hearts love.
But of course Jill, being a Romance Sim (like Ryker) and with the lifetime want of having 20 loves (she has 10 or 11 now), shows getting engaged or married as a fear. We'll see.

On the wings of love, Ryker is the best lounge singer his audience could wish for. His efforts are rewarded with a promotion to Ventriloquist.

Friday already! Where did the week go?

Summer has changed to autumn, and Ryker rakes the leaves under the birch tree which has turned golden over night.

The day ends with him returning home from work with yet another promotion: He is now a Round Table Knight.

Ryker needs a body skill point for his next promotion, and on Saturday morning, he can be seen skipping rope in his small kitchen/dining room. Uh-oh, Ryker, that looks dangerous! Look where the rope goes! (But of course you know the game is not programmed that way... the chair stays put, and Ryker gets his skill point.)

Meet former Round Table Knight, now promoted to Juggler! (Funny how the car pool has not changed with all his promotions of this week.)

It is Sunday, and Ryker decides to have a breakfast of cereals and fresh berries. He is not worried about the belly he has developed in the course of the week; neither he nor his 3-bolt-lady have fitness as a turn-on or a few more pounds as a turn-off. But he has been struggling with a cold for a while, and the colder season is here, so it seems only reasonable to boost his immune system with fresh, healthy food.

He asks his "cousin", Demi Love, to move in - and Demi happily accepts.

She starts life at her new place playing The Sims...

...while Ryker does some Yoga outside. He needs another body skill point for his next promotion.

Afterwards, he acquires a creativity skill point at the newly bought easel. Note I have enlarged the balcony; originally, it ended nearer the door, and it was not possible to place the easel there because of the "low ceiling" - the sloping roof somehow meant nothing could be placed there.

Demi and Ryker enjoy a plate of spaghetti for dinner. "We should start looking for a bigger, more comfortable place next week; I have brought more than 9,000 Simoleons along, it shouldn't be a problem," Demi suggests.

There is a tiny corner off the upstairs landing, just big enough for a single bed and a bedside table - this will be Demi's space for the time being. It is quite a big difference to her own quarters from the week before, but I dare say the two cousins won't be staying in Ryker's small house for long.

Where are the two of them going to live? Will there be problems because the game does not treat them as relatives, and Ryker is so much in love with Jill Smith? Who is going to reach their lifetime want first - Demi or Ryker?
