Jessie Pilferson - Junior Year

Click here for Jessie's Sophomore Year - although that post focuses on Sarah Love, Jessie is in the same year.

After a VERY busy student household last week, I am playing another (almost as busy) student house this week: The Tri-Fruhm Sorority.
This time, the focus is on Jessie Pilferson, who can be seen here just putting the finishing strokes to her Term Paper. Her Junior Year has begun only a few hours before, but she already had all the necessary skills and so set to work on her paper right away.
Jessie is a Romance Sim who wants to be Hall of Famer one day. This fits her bio: According to Maxis, she "is majoring in psychology, but what she really wants is to be a professional sports star. Maybe she'll learn how to analyze her way into the big leagues some day."
The sorority consists of four original "sisters", one of which is Jessie. The other three are Sarah Love, also a Junior, and Monica Bratford, the oldest girl and only Senior here at the moment...
...and DJ Verse.
In the background, you can see a girl at the easel; that's Tiffany Riley. The girl in underwear, holding a blue assignment book, is Danielle Smith. These two are ex-Townie Teens, made playable by me through sending them to college. They were befriended by one or more of the sorority girls, asked to pledge, and once their pledge period was over, moved into the house.
(The girl on the stairs is an NPC cheerleader of no consequence.)
Sarah and DJ have returned from their final exams very hugry, finishing their Sophomore Year successfully. Good job there is still some pizza left over, as well as several plates of spaghetti bolognese in the fridge.
The young man working on an assignment at their kitchen table is Sarah's boyfriend Matthew Hart. She had invited him over to calm her pre-exam nerves this same morning, and he obviously stuck around to wait for her return.
Do you remember how awkward things used to be between Sarah and Jessie, due to her having a crush on Matthew? This is now entirely and firmly in the past. Jessie can genuinely smile (although she prefers not to look) while the two lovebirds share a kiss next to her dancing to the music from the stereo.
DJ and Danielle mirror each other's posture, concentrating on their assignments, while Monica is studying some skill or other needed for this semester.
You didn't need reminding of what the Sorority house looks like, did you? I still wanted to post a picture of it. With six girls living here now, and all of them bringing in grants, the joint household account stands at about 10,000 Simoleons.
That means the girls can afford to eat well, but our Jessie goes for the cheap and lazy option, wolfing down a bag of crisps for breakfast the next morning.
She then invites Shenene Kim over and asks her to pledge. She brings along her friend and dorm mate (I think) Christopher Hart. These two are ex-Townie Teens made playable by me, too.
After class, Jessie needs some fun, and plays catch with DJ for a while.
Tiffany Riley has been wishing to fall in love with Christopher Hart, and since they have already been best friends and he came over for the day, all it takes is putting her arm around his shoulders and squeezing his hand, with big red hearts promptly appearing for them. Aaaw, love!
Unfortunately, the campus coach is fully intent on destroying the romantic atmosphere, ordering Tiffany to exercise. Poor Christopher can ignore the coach only for so long before he decides to leave.
Upstairs, I catch Jessie with her hunger bar so low she is close to starvation - how daft of her, when there is a well stocked fridge in the kitchen! I watch her for a little, but decide to intervene when she shows no sign of going downstairs and getting herself something to eat. (I really belive she would have died there and then without my intervention.)
Finally, she makes a fresh batch of spaghetti, and shares it with Sarah. "Isn't it good that we are best friends again," she remarks, and Sarah fully agrees.
The next day, Danielle (who has just finished her Freshman year) sits down at the chess table for a logic skill point she needs this semester. Monica joins her on her own accord. "Jessie's been painting all morning," the younger girl informs her.
And it's true; there is Jessie, out on the balcony, busily painting away.
It's exam day for three of the four original sisters, and Monica makes sure "her girls" have a good, wholesome breakfast of home-cooked omelettes before they go.
Jessie does a spot of kitchen duty afterwards on her own accord.
Certainly, Monica's omelettes were not the main contributing factor, but all three - Monica, DJ and Jessie - return from their end of term exams with spots on the Dean's List and their full grants.
Sarah happens to return from class at the same time, but she'll have her exam in another four hours.
Part of the sorority's money is used to invest in better beds, bedside tables and some lamps, as well as a better stove for the kitchen.
One of the skills Jessie needs to complete her Junior year is charisma, and here she is, practising a speech in front of the mirror.
She only interrupts that when Monica makes Mac & Cheese for all.
The next morning, I find Jessie and Danielle in an animated conversation (and in their undies) in the upstairs hallway.
DJ and Tiffany enjoy a water balloon fight.
It looks as if Jessie's Term Paper has not progressed much yet, but these are in fact the last lines she's been typing before patting herself on the shoulder for having completed it.
She then discovers the joy of the RC car until Sarah serves Grandma's Comfort Soup and she relents the remote control to Danielle.
Tiffany has been visiting campus, but instead of the usual pizza, she has bagged something else. What is it?
A cheap desk... um... great, I suppose :-D And she's put it the wrong way round, too. Never mind! The girls can really do with a second desk and computer to write their term papers at, and so this one is set up properly downstairs, while the first one is in the upstairs hallway.
When Monica and Sarah sit at the kitchen table together, it is usually with a wholesome meal. Not so for Jessie and DJ. These two aren't all that interested in healthy eating, unless someone else does the cooking.
That evening, Shenene Kim's Pledge period is over, and Jessie has just asked her to move in. This latest addition to the Sorority is a Sophomore. Her aspiration is Pleasure, and she wishes to become a Criminal Mastermind.
The next day, all the girls really do is get ready for their final exam. For Monica, it really was the FINAL exam - she won't ever have to sit another one in her life and has just graduated Summa Cum Laude in Art. Soon, I will find her a place to live in Strangetown.
Jessie and DJ both have finished their Junior Year very well. For them, their Senior Year has begun.
Sarah is a few hours behind, and the other girls' calendars are all over the place anyway - which doesn't matter, as I will simply stick to the alphabetical list and focus on them when it is their turn.

Anyway, with this year's focus being on Jessie, this is where I leave the Tri-Fruhm Sorority - until next time!

  1. A great round for Jessie and her fellow sorority sisters. It's a good idea to get some pledges moved in to continue the house (and surnames), you seem on the ball with that more than me. :D
It baffles me how simple Sims can be, or stupid depending how you look at it with Jessie not feeding herself to the point of starvation. Good job you intervened!

    1. I like the variety those newcomers add to the game, since I am so familiar with the original playables.
Yes, Jessie is terrible when it comes to looking after herself! In the former installation of my game, I would have let events run their course without intervening, but this time I just don't feel like so many deaths.

Whether you play The Sims 2 yourself or not, it would be great hearing from you. As I will reply to comments regularly, please remember to come back if you have asked a question.
