Charlie and Tina Cho - Update June 2021

It is not that long ago since we last spent time at the Senior Residence, but if you want to remind yourself of what happened, click here.

Charlie Cho and his wife Tina (nee Traveller) are my reason for playing this lot. They are 77 and 76 years old and have both been on Permanent Platinum for a long time.

Marcus Baldwin has only moved in recently. He is the youngest at 54, and also on PermaPlat. On this Wednesday, he is the first to start coughing. Eventually, everyone but Charlie ends up sick.

Resident Beauty Heather Huffington is now 73. Like the others, she is on PP.

[Tina sometimes does a spot of cleaning without me asking her.

Some things never seems to change: It is almost daily routine at the Senior Residence that the Repair Service is called for one thing or another breaking down, usually toilets, sinks or bathtubs. Arcadia Bradshow mutters under her breath, wondering what on earth these folks are doing to their household installations.

On Thursday morning, I find Heather and Charlie holding an animated conversation in one of the many bedrooms. Ever since that holiday kiss, these two have been holding a candle for each other, in spite of Charlie being happily married. But they are just very close friends, and nothing more.

Or so I thought!! Tina has no idea.

Later that day, first Parvati Patel comes visiting...

...and then young Harry Hart, son of Hailey Hart and grandson of Matthew Hart, one of the original playble students that Maxis created with the Campus expansion pack.

The habitual round of poker is interrupted when, just after 8:00 pm, Tina is handed her very last cocktail and heads to the great big lot in the sky. She was 78.

Charlie, Marcus and Heather are sad and upset. But I must be honest with you: While Charlie seems to be genuinely grieving and interrupts what he's been doing to have a good cry, he keeps thinking of Heather. Will the widower now feel free to act out his romantic feelings for the beautiful lady?

It is very early on Friday morning when our remaining three residents leave the Senior Residence for a 3-day-holiday on Twikii Island.

To my dismay, I find that all but one hotel lot have disappeared from the Twikkii neighbourhood - the community lots seem to be there, but the hotels and residential lots are gone, with the exception of the bungalows you can see here.
I really believe that my game has never been the same again ever since it was all forcibly switched to Origin!

Upon arrival, the first thing Heather wishes for (and does, on her own initiative) is sunbathing.

Marcus sits on the balcony of the bungalow they have rented, and finds the state of things quite unbelievable: The dirty dishes of the previous holiday makers are still on the table!

The three friends spend a balmy evening sitting and quietly talking on the benches in front of the small complex of bungalows before retreating to their beds.

Marcus is obviously not happy with the cleaning standards at the bungalow; on Saturday morning, I find him cleaning the bath tub. Do you remember in what a mess of a house he used to live before he moved to the Senior Residence? What a difference to now!

He then sits quietly by the Sea, watching the waves until the other two get up.

Our trio head to the Boardwalk today.

Here, I have Marcus learn the Fire Dance. I wonder if he will ever use that art once he'll be back at the Senior Residence.

Heather and Charlie are left to their own devices, and you can tell that Charlie is obviously over the loss of his wife!

Two of the other tourists - Mark and Neil Trimble are their names - engage into a fight, watched by the locals and another tourist. I wonder what's the matter there.

Marcus finishes his meal first and wonders whether it was truly worth the money, while Heather and Charlie are still eating.

Sunday is their last full day on the island. Charlie is the first one up this morning.

Room service is ordered, and the three friends enjoy freshly made omelettes on their balcony overlooking the ocean.

They decide to spend their last day exploring the Ancient Ruins of Numchuck.

The sights and sounds are so unlike anything they know from New Maximiliania, and all too soon, the time has come to say good-bye.

With the difference in time zones, it is still Friday when our holiday makers arrive back at the Senior Residence. The time away seems to have put them in a good mood - especially Marcus, who adds soap powder to one of the fountains in front of the main house.

Charlie is now 80, and I doubt he will be around for much longer.

As expected, he peacefully goes with the Grim Reaper the next evening, while both Heather and Marcus are out for work.

Now there are only two residents left here; who is going to join them next?

  1. How lovely for the Seniors to enjoy a holiday but how odd that your lots have disappeared! Can you got into the neighbourhood and replace them?
Charlie enjoyed his last little fling before joining his wife in the afterlife!

    1. I went a more drastic way and deleted all holiday destinations from that neighbourhood before generating them anew. Now they look as they should by default. Hopefully, they'll stay that way when I next send a group of Sims on holiday!

Whether you play The Sims 2 yourself or not, it would be great hearing from you. As I will reply to comments regularly, please remember to come back if you have asked a question.
