Gavigan Students: Senior Year

Back already at Pinenut Plaza dorm, so soon after our last visit that I think we can make do without reintroducing everybody. With one exception: Newcomer Brittany Love, former Paper Girl who is best friends with Jill Fleig. She has only just arrived, and I don't know anything about her yet.
Turns out Brittany is a Popularity Sim who dreams of becoming Captain Hero. From Paper Girl to Captain Hero - how is that for a Sim's biography!

We are here because of the Gavigan siblings, Clarence (pictured) and Helen. Their surname is next on my alphabetical list. The Gavigans have just started their Senior Year along with Margaret Turner, Amin Fleig and Abhijeet Turner (not offically related to Margaret). Cataldo and Cameron Capp are now Juniors.

As usual, the start of a semester means skilling.

Once a student has his or her necessary skills, they write their Term Papers. Brittany comes with a good skill profile and finishes her Term Paper first.

The siblings stop for a chat in the upstairs common room.

Margaret can be relied on doing a spot of cleaning without being told.

Abhijeet is the last to finish his Term Paper; from now on for the rest of the semester, everybody is largely left to their own devices.

Clarence and Amin retreat to the shade of the dorm to play with a football on this hot sunny afternoon.

Our two lovebirds Helen and Abhijeet are as passionate about each other as the summer heat. The dorm cook discreetly turns his back on the two. You know he's seen it all before... many times!

Brittany's first friend here at the dorm is Clarence.

Abhi and Helen are at it again...

...and again ;-D

And those two? Nothing, they have simply found this bed to be the most comfortable. You know what Sims can be like when it comes to choosing their bed!

The semester ends well for everybody, although Margaret surprises me with a C+, and one of the Capp boys with a B+.

For our Senior Students, the very last semester has begun. This time, it is Helen who finishes her very last Term Paper as the first one of the group.

She now has plenty of time to spend at will with Abhi.

I almost forgot that Amin and Margaret are an item, too; all summer, they have not initiated any romantic interactions with each other. Now that autumn has begun, they seem to remember their relationship.

Generally, everybody gets along well. The semester moves on, and it is soon time for the final exams.

Amin Fleig is the first to finish: He has just graduated Magna Cum Laude and thinks Helen is nuts, running to her exams like that!

Margaret, Cameron and Clarence are next. For Margaret and Clarence, it was their FINAL final exam - they have both graduated Cum Laude.
To my astonishment, I find that Margaret's lifetime want has changed since she has become playable: She started out with the Pleasure Aspiration and wanted to become Captain Hero, now she is a Knowledge Sim and dreams of maxing out all her skills. Oh well, I don't even know since when!

Abhi and Helen return with a headache and empty stomach. Abhijeet is particularly bad at taking care of his needs; more than one during this "year", I have been fearing for his life.
He has graduated Magna Cum Laude, and Helen is the only one of the graduates who has reached Summa Cum Laude.

Brittany and Cataldo are last to finish their exams that night.

The next day, Abhijeet dons his graduation robe and invites a few friends over. "Look at you... sexy even wearing a mortar board," Helen smiles.

Amin follows. This is the proudest day of his life!

Margaret is next to leave campus.

And finally, it is time for the Gavigan siblings to head back to New Maximiliania - not without a graduation party, though!

Clarence and Helen invite their younger brothers over...

...as well as their parents.

Helen is last to board the taxi. Phew!

Now there are only three students left at the dorm. I am not sure yet which household is next in line with a teenager able to go to college, but we will find out soon enough :-)

The Fleig Household - Week 1

As far as I can remember, I have never played in this Maxis-made house. But now is the time!

It is the house I have given to the three Fleigs who have recently become permanent residents of New Max: Johnson, Jill and Cole (left to right). Johnson is the former head of Aspirational Laboratories, Jill an ex townie and Cole is originally from Three Lakes.

Johnson is a Fortune Sim and an aspiring Prestidigitator. Jill wishes to have 20 best friends, quite typical for a Popularity Sim. Cole's aspiration is Family, and he wants nothing more than to eventually celebrate his Golden Anniversary. Who with, though?

The house is completely empty when our three move in. Downstairs is prepared for a small bathroom, a larger open-plan area and another room with parquet floor.

Upstairs, a second, slightly bigger bathroom is planned. To the left and right of the staircase are a relatively large room (right), a smaller room and a tiny box room (left). There are very few windows here, and I think I will eventually change that.

I am very pleased to find out that the paper girl is called Britanny Love - she will definitely move to college soon and become playable, as there are already several members of the Love family residing in New Max.

And I am even more pleased when I have Cole enlist the Matchmaker's help on his quest of finding a woman to celebrate his Golden Anniversary with, and the blind date she conjures up for him is one Holly Turner (an Infallibly Good Witch)! With this surname, she will of course join the ranks of New Maximilianians, too.

Holly and Cole have lunchmeat sandwiches with the two members of the Welcome Committee who appeared earlier today: Ryker Love and Stephanie Stacks.
All in all, a good first day at the Fleig house!

Upstairs is now furnished like this; still rather basic, but the three have only just moved in, after all.

Downstairs is still similarly sparsely furnished.

Tuesday passes by rather unremarkably. Johnson has not yet found a job in the Entertainment career, Jill has just quit her former job (as a townie, she was working as a Science Teacher when she moved in, but does not need the career for her LTW) and spends most of her time talking to present and future friends on the phone, and Cole?

Cole has asked Holly over again, and their relationship progresses; they now have a crush on each other.

On Wednesday morning, Cole quietly reads a while in his room until he hears the others getting up, too. He seems to be quite the lover of film and literature; ever since the week began, he has been showing the wish to read a novel or watch a film. But currently, there is no book shelf or TV in the house.

Johnson is happy when he finds a position in the Entertainment career: Later this week, he will start as a standup comedian.

Johnson wishes to acquire a mechanical skill point, and so I make him repair the broken bathtub on Thursday morning instead of calling the repair service.

Jill discovers Cole's love of literature during an early morning conversation in the kitchen.

It is Johnson's first day at work, and he heads for the car pool amidst the snow.

Cole invites Holly over again and asks her whether she could imagine the two of them to become an item true and proper.

Jill greets passers-by Rodney Scott - another potential resident for New Max!

When Johnson returns from work, it is with a promotion to Birthday Party Mascot.

Holly's answer to Cole's question was affirmative, and the two are now in love!

After Holly has spent the night with Cole, his question whether she wants to move in is a no-brainer for her the next morning: On this Saturday, New Maximiliania gains a new resident!
Holly Turner, Infallibly Good Witch, is a Family Sim who wants to marry off six children, and the Fleig name will spread in the neighbourhood. She and Cole have their work cut out for themselves, it seems!

Over breakfast, Jill remarks that she finds it awfully nice of Holly to add her modest funds of 7,000 Simoleons to the household account.

Upon his return from work as a Birthday Party Mascot, Johnson is glad to learn that he won't have to wear the silly clown suit again: He is now a Mime.

He spends the evening working on his creativity skill at the newly acquired easel.

Saturday is a very important day for Cole and Holly - you can imagine why, seeing the taxi pulling up in front of St. Simius!

After a whirlwind romance, both are certain to have found the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with - and the one who can help them to achieve their lifetime wants.

Mr. and Mrs. Fleig are applauded by their friends and housemates...

...as well as a couple of random church visitors. The young lady in the pretty green dress is the paper girl Brittany Love, she was formally invited.

There are toasts and the wedding cake...

...as well as the happy couple opening the dance floor for everyone.

Back home (Johnson had to go to work at 2:00 pm), after a very slow start Jill finally makes a series of best friends. Remember, she wants 20; right now, she has five: Matthew Cho, Brittany Love (the paper girl), Sandy Fairchild and Addison Sartor (townies whom she was friends with already when she moved to New Max) as well as Johnson, her housemate.

On Sunday morning, Holly stocks the aquarium on her own accord. It was their wedding present - Brittany Love left it on their doorstep to say thank you for the great outing at St. Simius.

The clothing situation in this household is not to my liking, and so I send Jill and Johnson to H&M, also to leave the newlyweds a bit of time and space to themselves.

Back home, everybody puts something more spring-like on out of the new outfits Jill and Johnson brought back.

As a typical Popularity Sim, Jill has been wanting to throw a party for a while now, and so I have her invite a few friends round on Sunday afternoon.

A game of kicky-bag never goes amiss! Matthew Cho looks like he has been gaining a bit of weight here, doesn't he ;-)

Speaking of gaining weight - that evening, Holly tells her husband that they are going to be parents soon.

This is how the week here ends; everybody has been doing something towards their lifetime wants, and I enjoyed playing this household. Now with a little one on the way, I guess I will have to split up the group; either the couple will move out, or the two single housemates.

By the way, Jill has not aged one single day this week - I wonder if it will stay that way. Everybody else has been aging normally.
