Hermia Capp's Family - Week 9

The Capp mansion is our last stop with Capp households before moving on to the next surname on my list. Who lives here?

It used to be the home of Hermia Capp and her husband Tank - formerly Grunt - and their children. But Hermia and Tank have died last round, and their oldest two sons, Callum and Christopher, have moved out.
Carl is still here, though. He is a Pleasure Sim with the lifetime want of having 50 dream dates.

Here are his sisters Carolina and Chris.
Caro is the same age as Carl (I can't remember whether they are twins) and has the Popularity aspiration. Her main goal is to have 20 best friends; right now, she has nine.
Chris was adopted when Hermia and Tank thought they wanted to marry off six children but could not have any more kids the natural way. She will soon turn into a teenager, when we will learn her aspiration and lifetime want.

Cameron is the in-between kid - younger than his adult siblings, and older than Chris. Like Carolina, he is a Popularity Sim. And like his big brother Christopher, he dreams of owning 5 top level businesses. Maybe they can pass down businesses in the family? That would help!
For now, though, Cameron's next big step will be college.

Dora Capp, nee Ottomas, roams the place at night as a ghost.

She manages to frighten young Chris - the poor girl has to go to school lacking several hours of sleep on this Monday morning.

I check Carl's relationships and memories and find that he has had three of his desired 50 dream dates with Stacy Stacks. However, Stacy died last round in a fire (I think), and now Carl needs to find a new lady to date.
The Capps are rich, and calling the Matchmaker and handing over 5,000 Simoleons is no problem for Carl. Kana Goss turns up, but they do not really get along - no dream date there.

Inside, Carolina's attempt at making lunch before the younger kids come home from school do not go well.

As a consequence of the fire, Carl's second blind date of the day goes completely wrong when the NPC student (I believe she is a student) has a nervous break down in the kitchen and needs to be taken home by her psychiatrist.

Carl's third attempt is successful in that the lady conjured by the Matchmaker is Perseida Powers, a nice enough woman who has two bolts with Carl. Time runs out too quickly, though, and the date ends as "good", not a dream date. Never mind, I am sure we will see Perseida again before long!

Tuesday is off to a better start. Carl does a spot of gardening after his younger siblings have left for schools. The bills have also been paid.

Cameron returns with Ned Newson in tow. It is Cam's last day at school - later that afternoon, he boards a taxi taking him to college, where we are soon going to catch up with him.

Chris is dropped off from the school bus two hours later, and Cassini Capp is with her.

For Carl, the day has been great - he has invited Perseida over again, asked her for a date, and had his 4th dream date with her. By the time Chris grows up into a teenager at 6:00 pm, Persie and Carl are firmly in love.

Chris does her homework, thinking of her own adoption - or of how she would like to adopt a child in the future. Her aspiration turned out to be Family (determined by me throwing a dice, as usual), and she dreams of having six grandchildren!

On Wednesday morning, Carl finds the oranges in the greenhouse ripe for harvesting.

Later, he has his 5th dream date, and the 2nd one with Perseida. The date involves some time spent... erm... sitting in the car.

[Meanwhile, Carolina and Chris enjoy a game of Don't Wake the Llama before Chris goes upstairs to do her homework and Carolina picks up the phone to maintain and make friendships.

The evening ends with a little concert by Carl and Chris. (It sounded really awful, because unlike with the other instruments, piano and violin can not be played in a coordinated way. I wonder why EA didn't think of that when they introduced the violin.)

The computer needs repairing on Thursday, and Carolina uses the opportunity to work towards a friendship with Waylon Fairchild, the repair man, by tipping him generously. She has not forgotten that there are three bolts between them (she discovered that last round when he was her blind date, arranged by the Matchmaker), but nothing has ever "happened" between them, and she still feels way too young to act on those three bolts.

Heather Huffington walks by and is greeted. Any chance for making friends is welcome!

Carl makes himself a big glass of orange juice. Nothing like using your home-grown produce!

Later, he asks Perseida over for another date, but although they have plenty of fun together, they do not reach dream date status today.

That night, it is Consort who haunts the mansion. He is Carolina's, Carl's and Cameron's great-grandfather.

Friday is the first proper summer's day, and the siblings all change into more suitable outfits for the warm weather.

Carolina makes Shaun Singles her 10th best friend - yay, that's half of her lifetime want done!

Upstairs, her twin brother has just gotten his 6th dream date under his belt (not that he is wearing a belt right now, but you know what I mean) ;-)

It is Saturday, and Chris can afford to have a leisurely breakfast in her PJs with her big brother and sister - no school today!

Instead, the three of them head to the park for a spot of fishing as per Chris' wish.

As soon as they get off the car, Carl spots Helena Stacks, the mother of his late girlfriend Stacy Stacks. "I am so sorry about Stacy," he gently says. Helena responds kindly. She liked Carl visiting her daughter and is glad he made her happy.

The siblings move on to the restaurant "Le Magnifique".

Here, Carl meets up with Perseida, and they have another dream date.

On Sunday morning, Chris dons her prettiest summer dress.

Carolina has invited their older brothers and some friends over.

So that Chris has someone her age to talk to, she has also asked Ned Newson to come. The two teenagers get along well enough, but Chris quickly discovers that they will probably never be more than friends (they have one crossed-out bolt between them).

There are drinks at the bar counter in the kitchen, and kisses for Carl and Perseida.

When Carolina rings Jill Smith long after everyone has gone home, the two women become best friends. That's 11 according to my count!

It has been a nice, easy to play week here. I like how the siblings get along, and everybody does their share of house work. Next will be Cameron for his first year at uni!

Somehow, I am once again missing community lots. When I was looking for a place to send the siblings to, I had the "Londoste" in mind, but couldn't find it. I don't know what's the matter with my game, but as long as it runs smoothly in itself, I am not going to try anything - I could make it worse ;-)

  1. Oh dear that is not good missing lots. But as you said the rest of the game is playing ok.

    1. A lot more community lots were missing last year. Only a few months ago, I made the effort to restore them and worked off a list so that I would not forget any. And now I find that at least the Londoste is missing again; I don't know how many more!

  2. Carl & Perseida make a great match and that helps with the dream dates!
I wonder if Chris will keep her wishes to have 6 grandkids or ‘change her mind’ as time goes on?
Carolina’s best friend count is going well too.
Looking forward to seeing Cam in college. An action packed round for sure!
I like their mansion, and fun to see old Consort again :)

    1. Cam's college time is going well, I have finished playing his first semester last week but am not sure I'll get round to completing his first year before I'll be away for 2 weeks, starting this Thursday!
With "away" I mean of course at O.K.'s - as in most countries, going on holiday is not possible at the moment. But the break from work will be so good, and the change of scene, too.
