Capp Students: Freshman Year

Click here for the last visit at this dorm. I am not going to link to the previous weeks with the two Capp Freshmen, as we have only just spent a week at their households, and I am sure you remember :-)

We're back at Pinenut Plaza Dorm, where all eight rooms are now filled with playable students.

We are here because of these two newcomers: Cataldo (front) and Cameron (back) Capp. These two Capps are not shown as relatives in their family trees, but of course they are both part of the large Capp clan. They have only just arrived here, and are the only Freshmen at this dorm.

Apart from Ratna Walter, who has begun his Senior Year, and the two Capps, all the others are Sophomores.

There are Margaret Turner and Amin Fleig...

...Helen Gavigan...

...as well as her twin brother Clarence Gavigan (left) and Abhijeet Turner (right).

You know my way to play college: I make sure every student has their required skills and writes their Term Paper; after that, I pretty much leave them to their own devices, apart from having them talk to friends and family on the phone.
Cameron finishes his Term Paper on his first evening at the dorm, followed a few hours later by Cataldo.

Clarence uses his spare time to play console games on the large TV in the common room.

Cameron takes it upon himself to mop the boys' shower room.

Abhijeet gets up early that morning, thinking of romance. Well, he dreams of having 20 lovers, after all.

By the way, two of the students here have changed their lifetime wants since I last saw them: Ratna originally wanted to have 50 dream dates and had two of these last round with townie Calista Fuchs. Now, though, it has to be 50 first dates for him.
Amin Fleig was all set for having 20 best friends and now wants to become Mad Scientist.

I fear for Abhijeet's life - he has not at all been taking care of himself and falls asleep over his bowl of mac & cheese, with his hygiene, energy and hunger needs all bright orange or red.

The Capp boys seem to be unsure whether or not to talk to Helen - and who should introduce himself first.

It is late autumn now, and the evening air has a sharp edge to it, prompting Cataldo to light the fire in the upstairs common room.
Both Capps have decided on a Major: It is Drama for Cameron and Physics for Cataldo.

Margaret is one of those very useful Sims who do a spot of cleaning every now and then without being told.

Exam day is here, and Cameron tries to calm his nerves with comfort food.

Nothing like a bit of Hula dancing for those exam nerves!

Finally, only about five hours before the first of the group have their exams, I send them to a community lot to buy new clothes. Since almost all community lots have disappeared from my campus neighbourhoods, the taxi has to take them all the way back to the H&M in New Max.
Because they have little time, they just make their purchase and head back to campus.

Clarence, Margaret and Amin are the first to return from their exams, all with an A+.

Shortly afterwards, Abhijeet and Helen arrive, also with A+. And the rest of the group follow suit; Cataldo, Ratna and Cameron can proudly report an A+ each, too.

This semester, Amin is the first one to finish his Term Paper.

For everybody else, it is skilling time before they can think of writing their papers.

Sometimes, skilling also increases fun and strengthens friendships.

Letters from home are always welcome!

Amin can now do whatever he fancies. Today, this means daydreaming in his room - about Meike Riley, among others!

You all know what our Sims can be like - some are better than others when it comes to managing their own needs. This is very obvious here as soon as they have all finished their Term Papers and are largely left to their own devices. While Abhijeet is close to starving (in spite of freshly cooked food in the cafeteria, really only a few steps from where he is), Helen has not had a shower for way too long, much to the disgust of her fellow residents at the dorm.

It's been a while since a campus coach was last seen here! Who is going to be her victim today?

It is Cataldo, who is actually in rather good shape. Never mind, a bit of exercise has hardly ever harmed anyone.

[Before they know it, the first batch of students are scheduled for their exams. Just as it begins to snow, Margaret, Amin and Clarence all return with an A+.

Helen and Abhi are not far behind and can't believe how much snow has been falling in the short time since they left for their exams. They, too, have received their A+.

Cataldo and Cameron finish their Freshman Year with - you guessed it - an A+, too. For Ratna, it was the very last exam ever; he has graduated Magna Cum Laude in Psychology. Will he throw a party, or just move to New Max with the next available taxi?
We'll see next time I am going to play at this dorm. For now, I have finally truly completed all Capp households for this round.

In a few hours, I am going to start my annual May holiday - of course, all I can do is travel to my partner's place, 150 km from here. It still feels like real holiday for the change of scene, and of course it will be great to spend more time together than just the weekends!
It also means I won't be near my computer for two weeks - I think I'll survive, as will my Sims :-)

  1. Capp’s are certainly prolific in this ‘hood but I always enjoy seeing how they get on.
How funny that your Uni com lots are disappearing, have you tried placing some new ones?
Enjoy your holiday, I’m off too for 10 days venturing around Wales and Cornwall. :)

    1. Unfortunately, the lots & houses catalogue only shows dorms and residential lots; all the usual community lots such as Campus Boutiques etc. have disappeared.
A proper holiday for you - that sounds great! Enjoy 😎
My time off is doing me so good, I wish I could add another week.

Whether you play The Sims 2 yourself or not, it would be great hearing from you. As I will reply to comments regularly, please remember to come back if you have asked a question.
