The Freshe Family: Week 6

Click here if you want to (re-)read week 5.

When we meet the Freshes again, they are ready to leave their house for good and move to the Senior Residence. You do remember them, don't you? This is Tom Freshe, former Maxis-made student who became Business Tycoon 19 days before Elderhood and has been on Permanent Platinum ever since.
He married fellow student Ellen Frost, who took a little longer to fulfill her lifetime want of becoming Criminal Mastermind, but made it 12 days before she turned into the elderly lady you see here. They are both 61 years old.
And here they arrive very early on Sunday morning at the Senior Residence.
They are not the only residents here at the moment.
Oh, and of course the brought along their late daughter's womb rat, Blacky.
(Freiya Freshe, Tom's half-Alien daughter, died... I think it happened at university during a fire.)

Right away, Tom meets and greets Jessie Dosser (nee Pilferson), who lives here with her husband Mickey.
Meanwhile Ellen, who is a very neat Sim, bemoans the sorry state of the garden.

When she meets Jessie, she expresses the wish they all become best friends. Jessie is 68 and her husband is 67. Apparently, unknown to anyone but Tom himself, he finds Jessie VERY attractive!

Here is Mickey, Jessie's husband. As soon as he discovered the womb rat cage, he spun the wish to play with Blacky.

Ellen cleans up without being asked to - she just can't help it.

Finally, the four of them gather round the poker table - it was inevitable, was it!
It is Monday.

The Dossers are still fast asleep.

For breakfast, Tom serves cake he found in the fridge.

Bumping into Jessie quite by coincidence a little later, it looks like she feels as attracted to him just as he is to her.

But she loves her husband and shows it by giving him a backrub first thing Tuesday morning, when he returns from his job as Professional Party Guest.

Tom is watching the Dossers enjoying a romantic moment. Does he wonder whether he stands a chance with Jessie? Should he be wondering at all?!

To take his mind off Jessie, he does something together with his wife: gardening!

It is very necessary, but the two of them do not stick to it long enough to really get on top of the work.

Nobody has been bothered to take care of the mail, and so the bills have started to pile up until it is finally time for the repo man's visit.

He takes away one of the chairs at the chess board...

...the dog house (not needed anymore anyway)...

...and a garden lamp. Of course, the residents are all very rich - this household is at nearly 8.000.000 Simoleons, and so the repossessed items are bought back again as soon as possible.

Tom still works, as do the other three residents.
        >
Jessie has not been eating well, but finally decides to make chili con carne for the four of them.

Meanwhile, Mickey is having a sponge bath - is anyone else reminded of a student household here? :-)

It is Wednesday, and I send the two couples to my customary one-community-lot-a-week visit: King's Gardens came to our games with the Gardens and Mansions stuff pack, I think.

Arriving at the park.

Roxie Sharpe and Jonah Powers are already there.

The Dossers enjoy hot dogs...

...and the Freshes do the same. (They really sat like this, neatly sorted into each married couple, in spite of there being several more chairs and tables available.)

On Thursday morning, Tom takes a leaf out of his wife's book and cleans the bath tub on his own accord.

Mickey has just been playing with Blacky.

But it is Tom who fills Blacky's food dish.

Friday morning before sunrise, the Dossers are already at the poker table.

Jessie does this time and time again. If it weren't for her going to work every now and then, I am sure she would have long died of starvation.

Ellen greets Guy Wrightley.

The cleanbot breaks, and in spite of all Sims here being on PP, I intervene and have one of them repair the bot. I am really not keen on repeating the Marcus-Baldwin-scenario.

On Saturday, the Repo Man is back. Again, he takes a few items, and again, they are immediately replaced.

Catherine Capp...

...and Nellie Nelson come visiting.

The young ladies discover the poker table, and that is where they stay for the rest of their visit.

Will Jessie and Tom act on their mutual attraction? (Jessie even rolled the want to "fall in love with Tom" at some stage!)
Who is going to join the currently four residents here next?

  1. Another great round at the Senior Residence, great to see Tom & Ellen join the Dossers.
It's amazing that our Sims survive at all sometimes isn't it when they don't always feed themselves!
It does seem a lot like a student household- maybe you just can't take the student out of the Sim! :)

    1. True :-) And they were ALL students at some stage, the four living at the Senior Residence now. And don't people say we return to our younger ways when we get older? ;-)
