Still no news, but...

...getting there :-)
I found a website with really good advice about how to retrieve lost neighbourhoods, and shall try their tips when I'll have more time (possibly some time next week).

What with me either spending weekends away or having my partner staying here with me, I spend less time at the computer in my spare time than I used to. Also, the fine weather means I am often still out and about after work, going for walks and/or ice creams, or running.

But the season is definitely changing, the nights are already drawing in, and in a few more weeks I will probably be back with my favourite game!

In the meantime, to satisfay my Sims2-"urge", I have been playing "The Sims Life Stories" for a change and am almost finished with Riley's story. It's a nice game with the advantage of loading and saving very quickly, but it does of course have its limits, especially when you are so used to playing the full range of TS2 with all expansion and accessory packs.

Have any of you been playing lately?

  1. Can you give me the link of how to retrieve lost neighborhoods in my game? I last played TS2 back in April.

Nowadays, The Sims 2 is extremely rare which Simmers are more common with TS3 or TS4 in most of the countries of the World. I think TS2 is able working with either Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Which most TS2 players had quit after chose to retire playing in a decade.

Are you able working with your New Max copy to play TS2 again?

    1. Hello, here is the link to where I found the info:
      https://aldohyde.wordpress.com/sims2nhoodmanagerhelp/

I've been away since Friday morning and have not had the time yet to try any of the tips there, and am not sure I will get round to it this week - it's going to be a wonderful last summer week, so I'll probably be out and about after work to enjoy the last of the great weather.

I know most Simmers have moved on to TS3 and TS4. While I do play and like both, TS2 is still my favourite, and I have spent so much time with New Maximiliania that I am not willing to give it up so easily :-)

  2. I'm glad to hear you might be able to get New Max back very soon!
I did enjoy all the Life Stories when I had them, there were 3 I think altogether. Quite limiting as you say compared to TS2 and it's EP/SP's and once the stories were done not easy to play (probably not intended that way).

I haven't had the time either to be honest. I have done one challenge not related to my Wishes 'hood but haven't got around to blogging it yet. :)

    1. Yes, there were 3 Life Stories; the first one (which I have been playing last week), one with pets and one with a castaway island story. I have never played them in "free play" mode, only the stories, so I'll see whether I'll give it a try this time once Riley's story is complete.

Looking forward to finding out what challenge you've been playing!

    1. Hopefully, your discs will turn up!
I came to TS2 via the base game, as I'd been a Simmer from Day One with the original "The Sims" game. I loved that game, but TS2 brought it to a whole new dimension, and somehow neither TS3 nor TS4 have been able to do the same for me.

    1. Thank you! It is unlikely that I'll play the challenge (as I spend nearly all my Sims2-time in New Maximiliania), but I'll have a look nonetheless.

Whether you play The Sims 2 yourself or not, it would be great hearing from you. As I will reply to comments regularly, please remember to come back if you have asked a question.
