The first week with the sisters is here.
We have not moved far from our stay with the Burbs - in fact, we are still on Main Street in Pleasantview, but now at No. 170, where the Caliente sisters live.
Their second week is off to a nice start when very early on Monday morning, Don Lothario leaves a generous gift for Nina, who he had a date with last round: A vase that sells for a neat 4,000 Simoleons, boosting the sisters' account to more than 10k. They can certainly make some improvements to their home, if they want to.
Dina is still working at becoming Chief of Staff; her current job is that of a Nurse, which means early mornings for her. Today, though, she has the day off and will use it wisely for some skilling and building friendships.
Nina made her first steps in the criminal career last round and is determined to become a Criminal Mastermind one day. She works as a Bag(wo)man at the moment.
Not anymore - after today's shift, she returns not only with a promotion to Getaway Driver, but also with fellow criminal Malcolm Landgraab. The two celebrate Nina's success with glasses of sparkling wine to go with their lunch meat sandwiches.
Early on Tuesday morning, the sisters meet each other by the front door when Nina returns from her first getaway drive and Dina is off to do her shift at the hospital.
She returns several hours later with a promotion to Intern and colleague Jodie Larson.
Both ladies now need to do some skilling before the next promotion is within reach.
Wednesday is another successful day for the sisters: Nina is promoted to Bank Robber...
...and Dina to Resident. While she has the next two days off to gain three more skill points, her sister needs FIVE skill points and does not have time off right now.
It's been snowing quite heavily during the night, and Dina is glad not to have to leave the house on Thursday except for paying the bills.
With all the skills she needs for her next promotion under her belt and Nina off to work, she decides to have a little gathering of old and new friends. Best friend of old Brandi Broke is invited over first, and next she makes a phone call to the Larson twins. She and Jodie both work at the hospital, and she has met Jason before. Over a batch of freshly made hamburgers, Dina happily catches up with her friends.
With their financial situation greatly improved, the sisters can start to invest in some better furniture. A new dining table and chairs as well as table cloths and curtains are the first things they buy on Friday.
The calendar shows the beginning of spring, but although the sun is shining from a bright blue sky, there is still enough snow to build a snowman.
The bathroom now has a bathtub, and Nina enjoys a good long soaking in the scented bubbles after today's exhausting bank robbery.
Saturday morning sees Dina returning from her night shift at the hospital as Pleasantview's latest GP. Of course she is straight off to bed.
The next morning, Nina surprises her sister by making her bed while Dina is busy improving her mechanical skill - now it's her turn to need five skill points for her next promotion. (Nina really did this out of her own initiative.)
Nina has been wishing for a date for a couple of days now, but I first wanted her to get her skills. Now that she's ready for next week, she can invite her colleague Malcolm Landgraab over. The two really hit it off, and their date ends a Dream Date.
Later, Malcolm leaves a "Thank you for the date" gift by the front door - a hot tub of all things! Didn't he know that the sisters already have one on their rooftop terrace? Never mind, the tub can be sold for money, and it's the generous gesture that counts.
Neither of the sisters have to work on Sunday, and happily use the day for... erm... socialising (Nina) and skill-building (Dina).
Malcolm stays for dinner, and the week ends with cheerful banter between the Caliente girls and their rather undressed guest (of course Malcolm was called to the table while he was still in the hot tub, and hurried down the two flights of stairs without taking the time to get dressed).
While I will never be entirely fond of the Caliente sisters, I had fun playing them this week. Once they got their careers off the ground, they could afford some home improvements, and there will be more as time (and their careers) progress further - although it will be a long time before I'll play them again, unless of course one or both of them will move in with another household over the course of the round.
It’s always harder when you are playing two sims on different trajectories but you did a grand job. Nina is always easy to play being a lover of romance and Dina working hard on her skills. Love the updates bathroom too :)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! (twoyys)
As sisters, these two are well suited to live together. I just have to be careful with the men around them - they both love Don Lothario, but I am not keen on jealousy dramas when one would spot the other kissing Don (or more).
DeleteMerry Christmas to you, too!
