The Seifert-Powers Household - Week 3 (Powers Week 14)

It's not that long ago since we last visited the Powers-Seifert household; in fact, it was only in April of this year that I played here for Perseida Powers. Now that we have reached the letter S on my alphabetical list, we are back for the Seiferts.

Perseida turned 54 at the end of my last visit. She has been on Permanent Platinum for a long time. Her housemate Amin Cooper (former Llama Mascot) is currently working slowly but diligently his way up the Media career ladder; he dreams of being Media Magnate and at the moment holds a job as Obituary Writer.

Cooper Seifert, ex-townie, wants to become City Planner and is not that far off with his current position of Architect.
He has just been dropped off the Alien space ship early on this Tuesday morning.

As is so often the case, Perseida can be found looking after her roses.

A few hours after his return from space, Cooper feels unwell to the point of throwing up. We know why, don't we!

Amin talks to Paper Boy Stuart Seifert, a distant relative of his and Cooper's.

[Although he can not realistically hope for another invitation aboard the Alien space ship so soon, Cooper is back at the telescope on Wednesday morning before sunrise. (In fact, he needs another logic point for his next promotion.)

A bit later, he finds his pregnancy confirmed. Judging from the fast dropping of his needs - especially his appetite - I would not be surprised if there were twins in his belly.

He needs plenty of rest and is fast asleep when Perseida softly enters the room to check in on her friend and housemate.

Amin takes advantage of the hour before work to tend the fruit trees in front of the house.

Perseida uses Cooper's drafting table on her own accord.

Cooper is grateful when Amin makes omelettes for everyone on Thursday morning. He really is hungry nearly all the time now.

Perseida meets and greets Abhijeet Turner, one of the more recent additions to New Maximiliania.

Amin returns from work with a promotion to Horoscope Writer. He's already been there this time last week but was demoted after taking the wrong decision with a chance card. Hopefully, he will have better luck this week.

Perseida enjoys the quiet hours of a morning in late spring, soaking in the hot tub.

It does not stay quiet for long: Cooper is about to give birth!

And shortly before 6:00 am, he holds little Sid in his arm.

Nobody has been using the small upstairs gym since the days of Joshua Powers (Perseida's human father), and so it becomes Sid's nursery.

The orange walls and old university diplomas are the only reminders of when the original Powers/Sharpe household still lived here.

Visiting neighbour Candice Walter fits the colour scheme perfectly!

Cooper has indeed gone to work that same day, and his effort is rewarded when he comes home with a promotion to Architectural Partner.

Early Saturday morning, I find Perseida relaxing on her bed while it is still very quiet in the house.

Amin and his young cousin I-don't-know-how-many-times removed Stuart have become friends in the course of the week. When Stuart passes on his paper round, Amin makes sure to greet him and give him a little extra money.

Although the apples are not very good, they are ready for harvesting.

Upstairs, Cooper is doing what new Dads do best - look after their babies.

All three housemates have lunch together today; neither of them needs to go to work.

[The afternoon brings rain and a thunderstorm. Thankfully, the rain is still falling when lightning hits one of the trees in front of the house, and nobody is harmed.

Later, Stuart Seifert rings Amin. The two of them have become best friends and have reached the stage in their relationship that would allow Stuart to move in if he wasn't a teenager.

Cooper returns from work with a promotion to Master Architect. I think this is the last step before reaching the top of the career and his lifetime want, but he really has his work cut out for him now: Three more logic and one mechanical point are needed, and he has a baby son about to turn into a toddler to take care of, too!

Thankfully, little Sid never lacks attention with three adults in the house.

Sunday ends on an unfortunate note for Cooper when he is electrocuted while repairing the computer. He manages to complete the repair and goes to bed without any further incident.

Because of Cooper's unfortunate encounter with the computer, it is Amin who helps little Sid to grow up into a toddler on Monday morning.

And it is Perseida who teaches the little boy to talk - she is, after all, his "biggest" sister - they share the same Alien father. Her heart nearly bursts with love when Sid says "Perr-see-dah!" for the first time!

Monday proves to be an eventful day for Amin. He returns from work with a promotion to Sports Columnist, and since he does not need any new skills for his next promotion, he drives straight back to work for an extra shift.

Meanwhile, Cooper has also come home from work, and both father and son are happy when Sid learns to walk.

Amin has just received his second promotion of the day and will work as an investigative journalist from tomorrow onwards.

It was nice to play the three housemates again, and especially now that there is a child in the house, too. I don't know whether any of them will end up in a romantic relationship, but time will tell. What I know for sure though is that I am going to send paperboy Stuart Seifert to uni and will play him as a student next.

Yes, it was the best way without having to faff with the tombstone of L and D.
