Gallagher and Jacqueline Newson: Week 3

This modest house in Downtown New Max is the home of another Newson family:

Gallagher Newson and his wife Jacqueline, nee Jacquet. Her human father was the late Gilbert Jacquet, son of Denise Jacquet. Her other father was - obviously - an Alien.

Gallagher and Jacqueline are firm 3-bolters. For Jacqueline, this means that her lifetime want is time-consuming, but not difficult: She wants 50 dream dates, and EVERY date with her 3-bolt-husband ends as a dream date. She ended last round (which you can read here) with 40 dream dates under her belt.
For Gallagher, his lifetime want will come true once he'll have made it to Game Designer. He is currently working as Guild Leader.

On this Monday, Gallagher has the day off and uses it wisely to acquire the skills needed for his next promotion. As usual, his wife - who does not have a job outside the house - does the cleaning and cooking. She may have been a little distracted from her 41st dream date when she set the kitchen stove on fire. Thankfully, a fire alarm is part of the kitchen equipment, and the fire is put out quickly by the fireman.

Burnt chili con carne is not exactly a culinary delight, but who cares when it is served by your three-bolt love!
Jacqueline expresses her hope that her husband gets his next promotion soon.

The main event of Tuesday is Gallagher's trip to the stars - aboard an Alien space ship! He meets his father-in-law (remember, his wife is half-Alien) and returns with a souvenir.

Spring has begun, and Jaqueline puts the woolly jumper and long trousers aside. Red is her colour, and she likes to be always ready for yet another dream date with her hubby. Today, however, he is out for work almost all day, and the omelettes she prepares here are just for herself.

Gallagher's pregnancy is confirmed on Wednesday morning.

He stays home from work, which gives the couple the opportunity to have Jacqueline's dream date # 42.

They still talk about it over dinner - it's Chef Salad for her and Mac & Cheese for him.

A growing belly apparently can also mean growing hair, as Gallagher finds out on Thursday morning.

He and his wife know their time for dates will be limited once the baby is here, and so on this day they have Jacqueline's dream dates # 43 and 44 together.

Later, Gallagher researches his unborn baby's (and his father-in-law's) home planet.

That night, the couple meet at the telescope, where Jacqueline hopes to catch a glimpse of the home planet's star and Gallagher has some useful tips on the use of the complicated technical device ;-)

Friday morning over breakfast, Gallagher muses that there won't be just the two of them much longer.

And how very right he is! He has just about enough time to eat his omelette when, at 9:00 sharply, he goes into labour.

Nero Newson is born shortly afterwards, right there in the kitchen.

The house is too small for a nursery, but the couple have rarely been using their living room corner anyway...

...and so it is quickly transformed into Nero's part of the house. They will probably relocate or have an extension built eventually, but just not yet.

Of course, all the other Newsons want to meet their latest family member, and so they are invited over - except for next door neighbours Garrett and Paola, who are working (they will be the next household I play).

Auntie Gabriella is as happy as the rest of them! The Newson siblings take turns in feeding and holding little Nero; in between, Jacqueline orders pizza for everyone.
All this enables husband and wife to have their dream date # 45 - that's only five left until Jacqueline will have reached her lifetime want.

Saturday begins with a change of diapers for little Nero.

Garrett and Paola weren't able to make it yesterday, and so they come over today.

Uncle Garrett is instantly in love with his little nephew...

...and Auntie Paola is the same.
Don't you love it when Sims interact with babies and children on their own accord?

It was Gallagher's first day back at work - and his last promotion: He is now Game Designer, having reached his lifetime want 9 days from Elderhood. Well done, Gallagher!

The celebratory dinner consists of spaghetti with meatballs.

On Sunday, the couple get up while it is still dark. They want to accomplish a few dream dates for Jacqueline, and of course take care of their baby boy.
Before the day is over, Jacqueline can chalk off dream dates # 46 and 47.

In between, Gallagher even finds the time to harvest the (not very tasty) oranges.

In the evening, Nero grows up from a content baby to a cheerful toddler. Although Jacqueline is really his half-sister (their Alien father is the same), she acts and feels like a mother to the little guy who looks so much like herself.

The day - and the week - end with Gallagher starting to teach Nero how to walk.

Both the adults have made good progress; Gallagher has reached his lifetime want (but as long as his son is still so young, I will keep controlling him) and Jaqueline is not far off.
Nero was a surprise - I entered the game one evening after work, with Gallagher at the telescope from my playing the previous day, and off he went aboard the UFO.

Next will be next door - Garrett Newson and Paola Picaso, and the last of my Newson housholds.
As I have 1 1/2 weeks off work from Wednesday onwards and will spend it at my partner's place, it will take a while before I can play that.
Stay well in the meantime!

  1. How great to see Jacqueline doing so well with her LTW- almost there! Double prizes for Gallagher with little Nero (love that name!) and his LTW achieved.
I do love it when visitors take care of the baby, as long as they don't try and walk off with them. lol.
    A very enjoyable round.

    1. The visitors weren't overdoing it; I've had situations when visitors insisted on holding a baby or giving baths to a toddler with nobody else being able to stop them.
Nero's parents will have plenty of time for him when Jacqueline's last 3 dream dates are done!

  2. I have never achieved the 50 dream dates, usually their go platinum before I even try. Sometimes I like the visitors helping but sometimes they will just hold the baby and never put it down

    1. Yes, I've had that, too (see my reply to Twoyys4me's comment).
The dream dates are easy, just taking up time; but both Sims have all their needs fulfilled afterwards, so they save time by not having to have meals, showers, or go to sleep.

Whether you play The Sims 2 yourself or not, it would be great hearing from you. As I will reply to comments regularly, please remember to come back if you have asked a question.
