Guy Wrightley - Junior Year

The previous year at the fraternity house is here.

Just like with the previous and the next household, we're going to spend time at Strangetown's La Fiesta Tech, this being the next-to-last house before my first round in the new setup (not so new anymore, actually!) is over.
The Oresha-Hoh-Var fraternity was, according to Maxis, founded by Guy Wrightley's great-grandfather decades ago. And it is Guy who we're here for.
He is of course the young man on the left, and his Junior Year has just begun.
His frat brothers Mickey Dosser (centre) and Matthew Hart (right) are Sophomores, but while Matthew has also just begun the year, Mickey has already finished the first semester. Together, the boys have close to 6,900 Simoleons.
Guy "is a great student, a good friend, and generally successful at all his endeavors. Can anything knock him off his even keel?" His aspiration is Popularity, and he wants nothing more than having 20 best friends. Because I have not been focusing on him so far, he only has two so far, with a third (Mickey) in the making; he and Matthew are not even friends yet.
As usual, skills need to be gained for the new semester, but before Guy can be expected to do anything else, he needs to eat. Funnily enough, he has made it through his first two years at uni without acquiring a single cooking point, and therefore sandwiches is all he can do.
Buck Grunt has been walking by earlier and was greeted by Mickey while Guy was at class; he seems to be more intent on doing research than on eating with his host - the food at his dorm must be better :-)
This explains why Guy has not deemed it necessary to learn to cook - he can always get free pizza from campus. (But I do wonder why it wasn't required for his Freshman and Sophomore years.)
Mickey Dosser becomes his best friend today; that's 3 down, 17 more to go.
River Smith is asked to pledge for fraternity membership as per Guy's wish, and of course as soon as he becomes a Pledge is ordered to clean.
Meanwhile, Mickey makes Blossom Moonbeam his lover, the first of 20.
After class, Guy can't help noticing the sorry state of the cacti around the house and gets rid of the dead plants on his own accord. Good job his great-grandfather is long gone - he would NOT have been proud of his great-grandson letting standards slip at the fraternity house.
Tiffany Riley becomes Mickey's lover #2 before the day is over.
Winter is here, and although it has only snowed once so far and that has not lasted, it is cold enough for Guy to light the fire in the dining room.
All three "brothers" have their end-of-term exam at the same time, and for Mickey, it is the end-of-year exam; he is now in his first Junior term, while Matthew is in is 2nd Sophomore term and Guy in his 2nd Junior term. Unlike the other two, Guy came back with an A-. Their grants combine to a healthy 8,625 Simoleons; time to upgrade their beds, I think.
This is Guy's new bed, out of the "Castle Collection", which I only recently added to my game thanks to Twoyys4me :-) (Sorry - when I took the picture I didn't notice the mantle sticking out like that!)
Matthew is the only one here who can make Comfort Soup, and tonight Guy and Mickey benefit from it, eating in the cosy dining room, while Matthew stupidly insists on eating outdoors.
There is finally enough snow for a snowman. Mickey builds it, and Guy adds the finishing touches.

On an evening like this, the lit up windows of the Cacti CafĂ© look especially inviting, and the three frat brothers walk over there for some socialising.
Guy buys Matthew a coffee, and the two are finally friends. Zoe Zimmerman and another playable student, Shenene Kim, are also here.
Of course Mickey takes every chance he gets to meet new ladies - all potential candidate for his list of 20 lovers. Here he is having a flirty snowball fight with Shenene.
Guy prefers having coffee by the fire, while a study group gathers to do some research together.
Unfortunately, Mickey falls victim to the Unsavoury Charlatan. After this, the boys head home.
In the first half of his Junior Year, Guy got good grades in spite of never writing any assignments, let along his Term Paper. He just worked on the required skills and made sure not to miss class. This term things are different; his grades won't go up to a satisfying level, not even after one or two assignments. Therefore, I finally have him knuckle down and write the Term Paper.
(This was an experiement; usually, I have every student write their papers and only then they can do as they please.)
Mickey makes Professor Frances Platz his 3rd lover, while Guy has just made his fourth best friend in Jasmine Rai.
And all of a sudden, the last day of term is here - Exam Day for all three! Mickey and Guy have managed to get an A+ each, while Matthew got a B+.

Next time I'll play here will be for D as in Dosser, Mickey. At least one new fraternity member should move in then, but will it be Francis J. Worthington III, or someone else?

Just one more household left to play - Zoe Zimmerman -, and the first round will be over!!

Matthew Hart: Freshman Year

We're still at La Fiesta Tech, Strangetown's college. The place is the Oresha-Hoh-Var Fraternity, where Matthew Hart has just begun the 2nd semester of his Freshman Year.
Back in November, I first played here for Mickey Dosser; you can refresh your memory here, if you like.

Here is Matthew Hart, just returned from his end-of-term exam and now about to start working on what needs doing in order to complete his Freshman year. Guy Wrightley can be seen in the back, while Mickey Dosser is "visiting campus". name>
Mickey returns shortly afterwards with a fresh box of pizza and can be found munching away in the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Guy is applying himself to gaining some charisma.
Upstairs, an easel has been set up to allow the students to gain creativity, which is something they all need this semester. Matthew is first to use it.
Next on his list is gaining a mechanical skill point. Tick! Autumn is just great for skilling, isn't it!
Meanwhile, Mickey has taken some time out of skilling to make a phone call to Gunnar Roque. He and Gunnar become friends, and the Fraternity reaches level 3.
Matthew and Guy have hardly spent time together and are not friends yet in spite of being frat brothers and sharing a house. They get talking over slices of pizza and even engage in a pillow fight afterwards, before it's back to skilling for Guy, and upstairs to the computer for Matthew.
He sends off his term paper several hours later - well done, Matthew! This was only the first day of the semester; he will now have time for a date with his girlfriend, Sarah Love.
The next morning, Guy is the first to wake up.
Matthew is not far behind and makes his bed without me telling him to.
Then he invites not only Sarah over, but also two of her sorority sisters, DJ Verse and Monica Bratford. Jessie Pilferson is NOT asked along - for good reason. Remember what happened last time she was here and witnessed Matthew and Sarah sharing a tender moment?
Matthew has a wish to eat lunch meat sandwiches - by now he really must be sick and tired of pizza. While he prepares a platter of sarnies for everyone, Sarah heads upstairs and works on an assignment.
After the meal, he cleans up - it is as if he wanted to show Sarah what good husband material he is :-)
Mickey chats up Monica - he does not find her attractive, but he really wants to work on his lifetime want of having 20 lovers, and of course Monica is a possible candidate. She seems more interested in cramming a bit of studying in while she's here, though.
Upstairs, Guy has just finished his Term Paper, and only now does he get rid of the smelly pizza box on the desk.
DJ, Sarah and the Cow Mascot have fun with the bubble blower before the visiting girls go back to their house next door.
Just before she leaves, Sarah surprises Matthew when she grabs him between the fruit punch machine and the bubble blower for a good old make-out.
The next morning, the boys are back to their usual pizza diet. Mickey (as usual) is last to complete his term paper, but at least this time he's not just a few hours away from his exam.
Guy writes something about Tank Grunt in his diary. Interesting!
Francis J. Worthington has been invited over and asked to pledge. He is then asked to clean and tidy up, and this takes him all day - there are books strewn across the floor of the study room, the rubbish bin is flowing over, and dirty dishes cover nearly every surface.
Guy returns from class and meets River Smith, an NPC student who hopefully will become a full resident of Strangetown one day, having "relatives" living here already.
It seemed a good idea at the time to make Mac & Cheese instead of having another pizza, but Guy's cooking skills are not what they should be, and he ends up setting the stove on fire - thankfully, a fire alarm was installed.
Francis is now a member of the fraternity, and the Greek House is now on level 4.
It's Exam Day! Matthew looks perfectly relaxed when, still in his PJs, he takes a big bite off his slice of pizza. He knows he has nothing to worry about.
And indeed, all three "brothers" finish the semester with A+, spots on the Dean's List and the full amount of grant money coming in, boosting their account to close to 7,000 Simoleons. Surely that should mean at least better beds?

Matthew is now a Sophomore. We will be back here one more time this round, when it is Guy Wrightley's turn on the alphabetical list.

Mickey Dosser: Freshman Year

Not that long ago, we spent a week at La Fiesta Tech's Sorority house, the building on the left. Now we are back to visit with the Oresha-Hoh-Var Fraternity right next to it.
The house has a layout that makes it easy to play: From the top left corner clockwise, we have a room with a bubble blower and fruit punch machine, a toilet, kitchen with breakfast bar, dining room with fire place and another "fun" room with a large TV, stereo and bar. The middle of the house is taken up by a generous hallway and staircase.
Upstairs are bedrooms with single and double beds as well as a bathroom, shower room and toilet. There is only one computer in the entire house, but since there are only three Fraternity members living here at the moment, that shouldn't be much of a problem.
Mickey Dosser is next on my alphabetical list. He is in the second semester of his Freshman Year but must have been rather lazy during his first semester - he is on Academic Probation and has not even declared a major yet. A Romance Sim, he dreams of having 20 lovers - right now, he only knows his frat brothers plus Gunnar Roque. According to his bio, he "isn't going anywhere fast, but he's quite happy about it. Even his good friends have a hard time getting him off the couch. Will he ever change, or will he simply master the art of doing nothing?"
<Snapshot>
Matthew Hart lives here, too. So far, we only know him as Sarah Love's boyfriend, which fits in with his Maxis-written bio: "Matthew came to school with his longtime sweetheart to get educated and grow up a bit. He's completely in love and excited about enjoying the college experience.". He is a Family Sim who sees himself as future Captain Hero. Like Mickey, he is a Freshman, but has only just started. Unlike Mickey, he knows what he wants, and has declared his Major in Economics.
Guy Wrightley is something like the heir to this house. The houshold bio says that "The Oresha-Hoh-Var Fraternity was founded by Guy Wrightley's great-grandfather decades ago. Will Guy maintain his family's strong academic history or allow frat life to be too much of a distraction?" According to his personal bio, he "is a great student, a good friend, and generally successful at all his endeavors. Can anything knock him off his even keel?"
Being the oldest of the three current frat brothers, he is a Sophomore majoring in Literature. His aspiration is Popularity, and friends are the most important thing in life for him - he wants 20 "besties".
Matthew needs a cooking skill point and so it befalls him to provide lunch. Sandwiches are all he can make yet, but the three of them are fine with that. Guy already talks of the grant money that is sure to come their way at the end of the semester. Matthew wonders if Guy should not be free of financial worries with his family background. In fact, the three only have 1,734 Simoleons between them.
Matthew wanted to play with Sarah and flirt, and so he invites her over, as well as the rest of the sorority. When he holds hands with his girlfriend, all of a sudden Jessie Pilferson gets mad at him and treats him as if he has cheated on her! He most certainly has NOT - they were never involved romantically (I have checked Matthew's memories), so I really don't know what got into her.
Upstairs, Mickey has finally made up his mind and declares the Art major.
He spots a smartly dressed student walking past and rushes out to greet her. There is one bolt of chemistry between them, and the girl is friendly enough, but soon walks on to whereever she is headed (to the Secret Society house, maybe?).
A thunderstorm sets one of the cacti on fire, just as Mickey was out again to greet Tiffany Riley. Fortunately, the rain puts the flames out quickly, but everyone badly needs a shower.
Guy is first to finish his Term Paper.
Whenever I check what Matthew is doing, I find him either "Visiting Campus" or returning with pizza. Here, Sarah tags along.
Mickey may have only one chemistry bolt for Tiffany Riley, but he really likes her and wants to date her and be friends. Both his wishes are fulfilled that evening. Who cares that he still has not acquired the logic skill point requested for this semester, let alone written his term paper!
Speaking of which, Matthew somehow manages to stay away from campus long enough to finish his. The pizza must have kept him going.
Mickey is the only Sim here now who is directed by me full-time, and so he is the one who has to repair the broken bathtub.
The Greek House gets to Level 2 when Guy makes friends with Francis Worthington.
Mickey receives a phone call from Tiffany - this time, it is she who asks him on a date! He (as well as Guy and Matthew) board a taxi to P.U.R.E. in downtown Strangetown.
Mickey and Tiffany's date ends on "great", and the two of them are now at the pink hearts stage. Never mind Matthew finding her anything but attractive - he has a girlfriend anyway.
It appears to be the opposite of Ladies' Night at P.U.R.E. - I can only spot men on the dance floor.
Back at the house, a chess board is set up in the dining room (costing nearly half of what cash the three frat brothers have between them), and 11 hours before his final exam, Mickey acquires the missing logic point.
Seven hours before his final exam, Mickey finishes his term paper. Well, he is not on Academic Probation for no reason!
He spends the last remaining hours of the semester at the bubble blower. Can you believe that to this day I had NEVER noticed that the bubble blower makes music?! The tinkling melody must have usually been drowned out by the stereo or TV; besides, I am not a fan of the blower and got rid of it most of the time when playing student households who had one.
All three "brothers" make it to the Dean's List and receive their full grants, as predicted by Guy Wrightley. Their cash now amounts to 4,167 Simoleons. Where is Mickey? He did not come home from his exam but headed straight to "visit campus".

This was only half a "year" with Mickey, but it did not seem right to play another semester. It was hard to keep everyone's fun levels up, especially Matthew's, who really was more on campus than at home. The "cheating" incident with Jessie Pilferson was strange!

We will be back here when it is Matthew Hart's turn to be played.
