Ashley Pitts: Senior Year

Click here for Ashley's Junior Year.

Only three months or so ago, we have spent a year with the Urele-Oresha-Cham fraternity here at Desiderata Valley's college. Then, Castor Nova was going through his Sophomore Year. Now, Ashley Pitts - Mr. Pajama Bottoms himself - is ready for his Senior Year. The other three (Castor, Joshua Ruben and Kevin Beare) have just begun their Junior Year.
To remind you of Ashley, he is a Romance Sim with the lifetime want of becoming a Rock God. His Maxis-written bio reads: "Ashley isn't very popular but he's too focused on himself to notice. He spends an awful lot of time staring at himself in the mirror."
Not only does Ashley need more mechanical skill this semester, also one of the two computers in the house wants repairing. It is logical then that Ashley gets assigned the task. Although I wonder whether it is such a good idea to poke the innards of a computer with a screwdriver, all goes well, and the computer is soon available again to write Term Papers on.
On top of being untidy with books strewn across the floor, the large lounge on the ground floor is really becoming shabby with the worn settees. The boys have accumulated well over 15,000 Simoleons, and they know just how they want to spend a little bit of the money.
Two brand new settees take the place of the old ones. Now if only someone would tidy up a bit! Maybe they should invite a friend and ask them to pledge.
Over vegetable soup, courtesy of Kevin, Ashley talks about how he wishes to remain friends for life with his frat brothers.
The next day, Kevin invites Erik Swain over from one of the largest dorms and asks him to Pledge. Erik is flattered - "What, little old me? Pledge membership at your distinguished fraternity?" And little old Erik can soon be seen mopping floors and repairing a broken shower.
The fraternity is now at level 5.
Kevin has been to campus and brought the first pizza to be enjoyed outdoors this spring.
In the evening, with Kevin fast asleep, Ashley makes use of the second computer upstairs to write his Term Paper.
Downstairs, Erik's Pledge period has been over surprisingly quick, and Castor proposes he move in right away.
Welcome, Erik! You may have more space here than at the crammed dorm, but you'll have to find meals without the convenience of an in-house cafeteria.
Erik is a Senior, majoring in Art. He adds a very generous 6,074 Simoleons to the fraternity account.
Tonight's menue at the Urele-Oresha-Cham house: burnt vegetable stew or pizza straight from the cardboard box :-D
Ashley amuses himself at one of the pinball machines.
The next morning, Mr. PJ Bottoms goes to visit campus, not in the least bit bothered by the rain soaking the naked upper half of his body and his bare feet. "It's just a lovely warm spring rain," he thinks.
He gets dressed at last when it is time for the end-of-term exam. Just one more semester left now, Ash!
Surprisingly, Ashley does not need any additional skill point for this, his very last, semester. Therefore, he can set to work at his Term Paper right away.
After its completion, he celebrates, true to the motto "dance as if no-one is watching" :-)
He's still in a hapy mood the next morning, when he enjoys yet another soft spring rain on his way to class.
"I'm going to miss you guys, all the best friends I have made here," he later muses over a meal with Castor.
That evening, he makes a fresh batch of spaghetti bolognese on his own accord. Kevin can't wait for the food to be ready, he has to find something to eat straight from the fridge.
Joshua finds his older frat brother very attractive, but has not acted on it so far. Maybe it is because he actually has a crush on Tiffany Sampson, and Ash has found his 3-bolt-love in Heather Huffington.
Kevin has been at the bubble blower for hours and hours, and now nearly all his needs are deep red. Like with Jessie Pilferson last week, I intervene and send Kevin to the fridge for something to eat. I expect him to fall asleep face down in his plate, but he makes it back upstairs to bed - and will hopefully do better tomorrow.
Ashley, the aspiring Rock God, has been using the piano more than anyone else in the house, and it seems only fair that he should be the one to tune it.
Oh Ash, I'd rather you not...! (I am seriously thinking about getting rid of the bubble blower. It is useless for anything but fun, and keeps our Sims away from more important things, even putting their lives at risk as was the case with Kevin.)
Kevin does indeed do better today. He gets fresh pizza for everyone and is the first to heartily tuck in.
Ashley has asked Toby Scott over from the large dorm where he lives, the same one where Erik Swain joined the fraternity from. The two have been good friends for a while now, and today Toby is asked to Pledge. Always dressed very neatly and being a serious student, Toby will be a real asset to the Urele-Oresha-Cham house.
One of his first tasks as a Pledge was to repair one of the computers - as you can see, it didn't go well. Heather is here, too; Ashley wanted to invite her over, but as soon as she arrived, he was off to his final exam.
But Heather waited patiently, and celebrated Ashley's Summa Cum Laude in Mathematics with him.
He then proceeds to leave the dorm for good, with a taxi waiting outside to take him to Desiderata Valley. Joshua looks a bit stunned, as if he can't believe it really happening - and he has never told Ashley what he feels for him.
But Kevin, who of all the fraternity is closest to Ashley, runs after him and waves him good-bye. Bye-bye, Ash! I am sure you'll do well finding a place on your own and starting your career, and hopefully, your three-bolt relationship with Heather will last.

I did expect more in terms of relationships from the "brothers" this week, but nobody rolled any wishes about their girlfriends or love interests apart from Ashley wanting to invite Heather over on his very last day. And that even though it was spring!

Next will be the Pleasant Family, I am really looking forward to playing them.

  1. I really enjoyed Ash's round! An action packed house really and another pledge moves in with a potential in the wings. Well done Ash for graduating and Kevin for not dying of starvation. :D
The bubble blower is another one of those annoying items Sims are drawn too but somehow it seems fitting in the college house. I like the new sofa's.

    1. Yes, the bubble blower fits the college house atmosphere, as do the pinball machines and the slight mess :-)
As for new pledges, Castor rolled a wish to ask one of the girls he's friends with to pledge - but it's a fraternity, not a sorority :-D

Whether you play The Sims 2 yourself or not, it would be great hearing from you. As I will reply to comments regularly, please remember to come back if you have asked a question.
