Giselle Goth: Week 1

This is Giselle Goth's first week back from college. You can read here about her last year there.

The New Goth Villa - the house I gave the Goths a long time ago in New Maximiliania, after I was sick and tired of the old, dark place they originally called theirs. It is one of the houses where I spent a little more time decorating and furnishing than usual, and have always been rather happy with the result.
Now Giselle Goth, the only remaining living member of the family, has returned from uni and moved back into the house where she was born and grew up.
It won't remain a lonely place for long!

Giselle has the lifetime want of having six grandchildren, and to achieve that, of course she will have to have at least one child of her own.

She already knows who with: Orlando Ottomas, a fellow student. He is still at uni, but will join her here once he has graduated. Why him and not Christopher Capp, whom she seemed so smitten with when I was playing the Capp brothers earlier this round?
Well, Orlando has the same lifetime want as Giselle, they have two bolts and have been best friends for ages - what more could a woman want!
On this Monday, she invites him, his twin brother Odell and fellow student Stacy Stacks over, just as Rod Humble is leaving after having delivered his computer.

And the first step towards reaching both their lifetime wants are taken immediately!

Even with the house full of visitors (in the meantime, the welcome committee has arrived, consisting of Jill Smith, Isaiah Capp and Justin Kim), the lovebirds have only eyes for each other.

The next day, Tuesday, Giselle's pregnancy is already clearly visible. I wonder if she'll have twins - it would not be surprising, as both she and Orlando were part of a set of twins originally.

She spends a quiet day reading about parenting.

When Giselle moved back into her childhood home, I was hoping she'd be finding the wardrobe full of the clothes that her aunt Cassandra had been wearing in her day, but it was not so; Giselle only had what she was wearing upon graduation (still, the house was fully furnished and decorated, exactly as she left it when she moved to college).
Therefore, going to H&M and splash out on as many outfits as she wants to wear once she regains her former figure, is what she does on Wednesday.

It is a fine spring day, and as soon as she gets off the taxi back home, Giselle slips into her swimming costume (which, thankfully, is of a stretchy enough material to accomodate her belly) and has some fun with the water wiggler, still there from the time when the family had a number of dogs.

Giselle starts Thursday morning with a lonesome game of chess.

As soon as she thinks Orlando will be up, she rings him to call him over.

It is important that he be there today, even if it means missing a day at uni, because at 11 minutes past 3:00 in the afternoon, the twins are born!

Meet Mortimer ("Timmy")...

...and Alexander ("Alex") Goth!
Mortimer has the pale complexion of his human grandfather, and the nose of his Alien one. Alexander has his Dad's colouring. That will make it easy to discern them.
Giselle has deliberately chosen two first names well known in her lineage; now we have once again a Mortimer and an Alexander Goth in the neighbourhood.

Orlando is thrilled to be a Dad and gives little Alex his first bottle.

Friday passes by mostly with looking after the twins. Because the nursery is in the attic and thus a long way from the ground floor kitchen, a fridge is installed here to have quick access to the bottles (and maybe a snack when Giselle does not want to leave her babies alone to cook and eat a meal downstairs).

Of course Orlando is once more invited over. He loves spending time with his sons and his future wife - too bad they can not get married while he is still at uni.
When Alex (Alexander) and Timmy (Mortimer) are asleep, the couple snatch half an hour for a bowl of hot soup at the dining table. Giselle muses about how much of their Alien heritage the boys will eventually show.

On Saturday morning, Giselle catches up with friends on the phone while Orlando, who has spent the night, looks after their sons.

Guy Zimmerman (formerly Wrightley) walks by the house and is politely invited in, although nobody really has much time for visitors.

Rather late at night, after several attempts of "Help with Birthday", Mortimer grows up into a toddler.

Several hours later - by now it is Sunday - Alexander follows suit.
If Giselle was busy with two babies, now with two toddlers she will really need all the help she can get!

It is mid-afternoon before Giselle can sit down for something to eat - upstairs in the nursery, so that she does not have to move up and down two flights of stairs when the twins wake up from their nap.

Speaking of a nap, Giselle badly needs some sleep. She only just makes it to have a mug of coffee and let Orlando into the house before she falls into bed, almost comatose with exhaustion.
Orlando is a little helpless around the twins - he can't potty train or teach them any other toddler skill as long as he is not playable. All he can do is get the boys out of their cribs and give them bottles, occasionally play with or talk to them. That's better than nothing, and late in the evening, Giselle drags herself out of bed and takes over again.

Phew! Poor Giselle - she is a devoted and loving Mum, but it IS hard work looking after twin toddlers almost all on her own. I wish the game would allow students to break off uni and move in with their loves, just like some students do in real life. Thankfully, next time I'll play at uni, it will be Orlando's last semester and graduation.

    1. I wonder whether she would have had twins even without eating the cheesecake :-)

  2. I do love this Goth house and Giselle has certainly had an action packed round. A twin having twins- (love it, though from personal experience as a twin myself I'm very glad I did not have them). :D

It is annoying that Orlando has to graduate as a playable before he can move in and be helpful as it is so exhausting looking after toddlers.
When my sims have big houses I usually put cribs downstairs somewhere so that everything is at hand. Maybe Giselle can hire a nanny for a day so she can catch up with sleeping and eating! :)

    1. Thank you!
I didn't know you are a twin yourself. As a kid, I knew twin girls and always sort of envied them a little.
Yes, I have also been thinking about hiring a Nanny, since money is definitely not an issue for Giselle.
There is a bedroom, bathrooms and everything else Giselle may need on the same floor as the nursery. She still has to go downstairs to answer the door, though, but I don't want a butler in the house - I find them rather annoying :-)

    1. Hello there, and welcome back :-)
You can see Mortimer's Alien nose rather well on his birthday picture, where Giselle catches him at the moment of age transition. There will definitely more pics of the boys next round - but that's quite a long way off, I'm afraid. Currently playing my next TS4 household, and it is taking me ages.

  4. Yes I did see that one and they are both rather cute but im old now Meks and instantly everything has to be magnified! haha! How do you like 4? You know, I just cant, I want to but it just seems like even though they are different, they all look the same. but I like all the expansion packs and that there's options without mods

    1. This is what I replied to the same question regarding TS4 the other day:
I prefer TS2, as I find TS4 rather demanding, but that may have to do with me being not used to it properly yet.
Also, the house seems to be bugged. Almost every Sim-day, a Sim would get stuck in one of the bathrooms, unable to leave the room until I went into build mode and replaced the door to the room.
Plus the game keeps crashing on me, which means I rather fanatically save every few minutes!
      - - - End of copy - - -
The TS4 household I am currently playing is not crashing all the time, and nobody has been stuck in a bathroom (yet). I still save all the time, and it still takes me ages to complete even one day, let alone one week.

  5. Since Sharla's LTW is to have 6 grand kids does that mean Giselle and Orlando will have another? or will Lisa ad Odell have 4?

i hope orlando and giselle will be able to marry early next round; not long until the ottomas twins graduate i think?

    1. I don't know yet who of the Ottomas boys will have how many children; as long as there will be six altogether, that's fine by me (and Sharla) :-)
Yes, the twins should be graduating soon.

  6. It's so nice to see Giselle in her home again. The twins are really cute and I am thrilled about their names. Thank you for this fine chapter. :)

    1. That home needed a family again, and I could not imagine Giselle living anywhere else :-)
