Calendula and Servo Capp - Week 2

Click here for week 1 with this household.

This cosy house is just big enough for two, and indeed the household we're going to spend a week with now consists of two Sims: Calendula Capp and her husband Servo Pleasant.

Servo was long ago made by Angela Pleasant and the first humanoid robot to walk the streets of New Maximiliania. He dreams of one day becoming the first robotic Mayor and is doing quite well in his political career.

Calendula has a different goal in life, but as an aspiring Celebrity Chef, she also seeks to reach a position of prominence in New Max' society. She currently works as a prep cook.

On this Monday morning, the couple start out with a modest 7,065 Simoleons on their bank account. Inheritances kick in shortly after I enter the lot, though, and soon they have doubled the amount and now stand at 14.459 Simoleons.

A few improvements such as a better sink in the bathroom and a really good fridge for the kitchen are quickly made.

Calendula has the day off and can dedicate it to her current wish of becoming fit, while Servo is out working. He returns with a promotion to Senator.

Aren't they sweet together with Servo sitting at Calendula's feet, looking up at her adoringly? A 3-bolt-couple if I've ever seen one!

It is Tuesday morning, and Calendula wakes up with the wish to serve food. Of course her husband does not eat, but she keeps rolling the wish to serve food nonetheless. Meanwhile, Servo admires the prize on the wall; his wife received it last round for winning a cooking contest.

He rolls the wish to go skating, and since Calendula has the day off, I decide to take advantage of it and let them have their community lot visit right now.
As befits a three-bolt-couple, they lovingly look in each other's eyes while twirling on the ice.

Calendula is very talented at this!

Even the Unsavoury Charlatan seems to think so :-)

Back home, Servo has just enough time to recharge (literally) before he is picked up for work. Calendula invites her friend Giselle Goth over, and she brings Gavin Newson along. "What is she looking at up there?" Gavin seems to be wondering.

It is nice for Calendula to have company at the dining table.

When Servo returns from work, it is with his last promotion: He is now Mayor of New Maximiliania! His lifetime want has come true. He is the first robotic Mayor of the town, following Johnny Smith who was the first half-Alien Mayor.

Calendula congratulates her husband.

On Wednesday morning, she wakes up with a cold. Thankfully, it stays with her only for one day and night.

And it does not prevent her from going to work, coming home with a promotion to Sous Chef and heading back for a second shift straight away.

Left to his own devices, Servo decides to build a snowman first...

... then destroys it immediately afterwards and makes a snow angel instead.
If you have ever played a Servo, you will know that they do not do well when they come in contact with water, so I was a little worried about him playing in the snow. But nothing bad happened, and he was fully functional to congratulate his wife on yet another promotion when Calendula returned from work for the second time that day.

Yes, she was made Executive Chef during her second shift at work today!

Thursday goes by rather uneventfully. In the small living/dining area, there was just enough room to place an easel, enabling Calendula to work on her creativity skill and produce a pretty painting of their house.

On Friday morning, Servo joins his wife for breakfast, although of course he does not eat.

While she is at work, he spends a lot of time on the fitness bike - God knows why, as he is super fit anyway. He can now enter the zone, as you can see from the glow around his upper body.

And guess what - Calendula has been promoted again! She is now a Restauranteur and not far from reaching her lifetime want. She will need to acquire several more skill points before that, though.

Saturday would be a rather boring day for Servo; he does not have to work today, but Calendula is at the restaurant all afternoon and evening. He rings a friend to tell him about a recent encounter with the skunk (it really happened; Servo got sprayed but of course he does not have a hygiene level that could go down, and so all he lost was some fun).

Then, Cataldo Capp walks past, a member of his wife's widespread family. Finally, Servo has something to do! On his own accord, he serves a batch of Hamburgers for his one guest, and later, they throw a football out in the yard.
Meanwhile, Calendula takes the right decision with a chance card and gets 55,000 Simoleons as a bonus. Now the couple are wealthy with almost 110,000 Simoleons on their account, but at the moment, they do not think about moving to a bigger place; their like their modest and cosy cottage.

Sunday is once more a day Servo has to spend largely on his own, as Calendula will be working and he has the day off. He makes sure she will keep thinking of him during the day after a long and passionate kiss in the morning!

He then invites over two friends with those of their family members who feel like coming over, too, and soon a bunch of Capps and Newsons arrive.

When Calendula returns from her shift at the restaurant, she is grateful that her kind husband has organised this surprise family reunion for her, with Capps of various parts of the clan there.

It was a cosy week, sometimes bordering on boring, what with two sensible adult Sims and no dramas or catastrophes happening. Servo never sleeps and usually recharges quickly, so he was always quick to do any household work. Calendula was focused on her career.
Next time we will visit this couple, I am sure she will achieve her lifetime want, too.

From Monday onwards, I will be away for two weeks with no access to my Sims, so don't think I have forgotten about them or about your lovely blogs! I may get to read some of yours, and comment, but it depends on internet connection and our activities.

  1. They do look quite sweet together. I find servos annoying don't know why but i do. so I hardly have any unless for a challenge. Enjoy your time away. I am away for week from Monday.

    1. Admittedly, I am not too fond of playing Servos, either; their "language" can get on my nerves after a while, too. But there are two in my neighbourhood, and as they are parts of other households, they get played. I don't think I will have any more activated, though.

  2. Servo’s are strange to play, but this one seems well functioning and makes a good partner to Calendula. I once had a Servo swim in a pool which made him go crazy and ‘run amok’, :D
    Have a great time away!

    1. I think I once had a Servo get wet in the rain and then it ran amok. Although, as I said, I am not overly fond of Servos, it made an interesting change to play this household.

Whether you play The Sims 2 yourself or not, it would be great hearing from you. As I will reply to comments regularly, please remember to come back if you have asked a question.
