The Greenman Family: Lavender and Geoff, Week 3

If you are interested in week 2, click here.

This house became part of the Lots & Houses catalogue with Riverblossom Hills, I think. In my game, it is the home of...
Lavender Greenman...
...and her husband Geoff, formerly Rutherford. Geoff is 62 and on Permanent Platinum ever since he became a Rock God nine days from Elderhood. He still works at his job, as he has never showed the wish to retire (no Sim in my game ever has, strangely enough!). Lavender is a Romance Sim who actually wants to have 20 lovers, so it was not her natural inclination to marry Geoff. But her mother, Rose Greenman, dreams of marrying off six children, and so Lavender did the right thing and tied the knot with her 3-bolt-man.
Monday starts with Geoff cleaning the toilet on his own initiative. Most of the time, I do not control him, unless it is about greeting a New Maximilianian walking by and Lavender isn't free to do it.
Here, she greets Erik Swain.
In the afternoon, friends and family of Lavender's gather in front of hte house.
After everyone has said hello to everyone else, the party moves into the large dining room. Lavender takes her position in front of the birthday cake...
...and sits down with a piece of that cake as an elderly lady moments later. Next to her is Glenda Greenman, her niece. The two may be wearing similar styles, but they hardly know each other, something Lavender would like to change.
The day ends with the happy couple retreating to their bedroom.
On Tuesday morning, they are both in the bathroom at the same time.
While they get ready for the day, a magic lamp is left at their door step.
Geoff is making breakfast, his wife keeping him company and doing the crossword.
When Cornwall Capp walks by, I send Geoff out to greet him.
Later, Geoff goes to work and Lavender visits Amelia's closet. The outfit she has age-transitioned into is not only too warm for summer, but also does not fit her preferred colour scheme.
She heads straight for the clothes rack with the purple, lavender and lilac colours.
As soon as she arrives back home, she changes into one of her new dresses (it is still spring), thinking of Geoff and how he'll hopefully like it.
Lilo Landgraab stops for a chat.
It is the only time this week that anyone uses the fitness equipment in the spare room.
By Wednesday, I have decided to let Lavender ask the genie from the magic lamp for Peace of Mind, which equals Permanent Platinum. But as it is not really PP, I'll still control her.
Now they are both in matching outfits, as it is summer. I like dressing my couples like this - it is something my sweetheart and I do in real life, too, although not to the same extent as my Sims :-)
Edwin Sharpe is the Greenmans' guest for today.
The tap on the bathtub breaks on Thursday morning, much to Geoff's dismay.
Lavender has repaired it, and Geoff takes it upon himself to mop up the puddles.
A summery lunch today consists of chef salad, lovingly prepared by Geoff without me asking him to.
It is Friday, and Goeff is once again seen cleaning.
Lavender has not been idle, either; I asked her to do the gardening. Geoff even takes out the old newspaper for recycling. These two like their surroundings clean and tidy.
Saturday is similar; Geoff is the one to clean up after breakfast on his own initiative.
Lavender, who has a Gold Badge for fishing, has caught a Golden Trout. Normally, the fish caught from their own pond is used for meals, but this one now adorns the dining room.
Whenever she feels like it, Lavender asks family over. Here she is looking fondly at her mother, Rose, enjoying a spot of fishing next to her husband Jason (not Lavender's biological father, as she was originally one of Rose's plant babies).
Sunday begins with a little dance in the bathroom...
...and ends with another family day. Can you work out who everyone is?

It was not too boring playing this couple, as there were nearly always visitors on the lot, and I like to observe interactions. Also, it was interesting to see what Geoff got up to. He is one of those Sims who seem to be able to take care of themselves pretty well. Also, it was rather sweet to see the three-bolt-couple seeking each other's company all the time.

Next is Rose and Jason Greenman's household.

  1. Geoff Rutherford hasn't married anybody in my game yet but has 3 or 4 three bolt ladies so plenty to choose from if needed. He still live with Connor Weir and his wife, and sometimes when i am instructing them to do something, he seems to like to clean or whoo hoo.

    1. It's funny, isn't it, how some Sims have several 3-bolters to choose from, while others never seem to find theirs.

  2. That was a lovely read. I like your colour scheme for Lavender- very fitting! Shame her and Geoff never had children to help Rose with her wish but they seem like a very happy and sociable couple!

    1. It was fun furnishing and decorating the house with Lavender's colour scheme in mind - at least for bed- and bathroom :-)
Rose's LTW has changed last round... she was doing so well with three of her children already married, but now she'll never reach it: She suddenly decided she wants to be a World Class Ballet Dancer, but was already too old at 59 when this happened.

  4. I recognize the house, but you've done quite a bit with the interior! And I like your little garden addition outside. In my game, that's where Cyd Roseland lives with his dogs, still an old bachelor. He just never had very many romantic wants. The house has remained relatively sparse, with fitness equipment and probably a jukebox. Very much a bachelor-pad ;)

    1. Oh, and I believe it's from Desiderata Valley.

    2. You are probably right about the house being original from Desiderata Valley. It's nice to know that you used it in your game, too. Some Sims just are like that, aren't they; they are somehow not cut out for much romance or family life - just like some people I know in real life :-)

    1. Thanks, I just have done :-) "Friends" is not a series I am following, so the pictures and descriptions do not mean all that much to me, I'm afraid, but it's a nice idea to re-create characters from your favourite show.
