News from New Maximiliania?

Well, the news I have at the moment are... no news, really.
I've been away for two weeks in July and August, and ever since I've been back, I have not really had time to play yet.
One or two evenings after work, I played TS3 for a little, but lacked the time and energy to get back into TS2 full steam.
Most of the time, it's been great summer weather, and so I have been out and about a lot. Weekends I've either spent away (at my boyfriend's) or he's spent the weekend with me at my place - no inclination to sit down at the computer to play then, either :-)

My intention to re-vamp and re-organize New Maximiliania is still standing, though.
One night last week after work, I fired up my game... and was in for a nasty surprise: New Max wasn't there!
It simply wasn't there, in spite of the neighbourhood folder being exactly where I left it last time I played, and where it should be.

After I completed my last round, I made a back-up which is still on the USB stick where I always keep my back-ups. So, I should be able to retrieve it. But before I attempt that, I'll try a few more things.

In any case, New Max will be back - one way or another. I just don't know when at the moment :-)

  1. Lucky you have such nice weather in uk we have only had few days here and there. Who wants to play sims when you have people other and nice places where to go and nice weather too. Hopefully you will find new max somewhere. When you have the time to play that is.

    1. During the two weeks my sister and I spent in Yorkshire, we had only one really rainy day - all the other days were good, mostly sunny and some rather warm.
If all else fails, I can always de- and re-install the entire game... but that is "last resort"!

    1. It takes a lot of time indeed, and I am not keen on it, which is why reinstalling will be the last resort. There is still one more thing I want to try, maybe tonight I'll get round to it.

  4. Oh dear, I do hope you manage to restore New Max to where you left off. Sadly Maxis/EA never designed the game to be played through so many generations (even though it is supposed to be a 'generational' game!)

I'm struggling myself with Pleasantview Wishes- it runs at a crawling pace most of the time which puts me off playing.

Anyway, Summer is about fun and you sound like you're having a great time but hopefully we can soon read about your Sims adventures again.

    1. The longest-going family I ever played was into its 12th generation - New Max has barely 3 or 4 now, there are still some of the original Sims around as adults or seniors. So I really don't know why New Max seems to have disappeared - it is there in the neighbourhood folder, but does not appear in the game.
Strangely enough, Veronaville is "gone", too - the folder is there, but the 'hood does not show in the game.

Whether you play The Sims 2 yourself or not, it would be great hearing from you. As I will reply to comments regularly, please remember to come back if you have asked a question.
